Windows 7 Home Premium administrator forgotten password

Hello.
My friend has a laptop with Windows 7 home premium and forgot the admin password. When:
- I switched to safe mode it also asked me for password
- couldn't switch to command panel because it also ask for admin pass
- in windows xp there could be ctr +alt +del and i could type administrator and login but in windows 7 it does not work.
Cannot reset the password in any way, is there any way to reset the password without re-installing the new windows?

Why not just logon as the standard user?

From the Desktop, if you hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, you do get the option to change the password.....of course you need to know what the old password was in the first place.

Reinstall is your option.

Reinstall and then write the password down and keep in a safe place.
