Windows 7-ish problem. Cannot change boot option

Hello, I recently was messing with my old laptop and kinda installed windows 7. There was a lot of problem during installing so before that, I tried installing XP and there was a problem of some sort of read error so in the boot option there is still the option for XP Setup for booting. So I ignored it and went to install windows 7. I ignored it because there was error when I tried to install XP. I don't really post on forums but I've really ran out of option.
So here's my stupid mistake:
After installing windows 7.
I was wanting to make windows 7 boot itself without the XP setup coming so I went to change in the windows 7
Computer > Properties > Advance System settings > Advanced
And then boot setting or something. I set the default I CLEARLY SET THE DEFAULT TO WINDOWS 7 and then put the timer to 0. So now, I restart computer, omg, it boots into the setup filled with errors instead of w default I've set. Now I can't even go into windows 7 and change it, what am I to do
Please help me out.

Best to clean the HD drive.

To clean install:
1) Clean the HD Drive, using Step one in this tutorial:

2a) clean install with the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disk.

If you wanna try saving what you have then boot into Win7 installation disk's http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html to System Restore to before you made the change.

If that fails, try http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/681-startup-repair.html?ltr=S.

If that fails Mark the new Win7 Partition Active then run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105541-startup-repair-run-3-separate-times.html to write the System Boot files to the new Win7 partition. When/if you want to add XP back to the Dual Boot install EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required) to add XP.

Once you are back in Win7, post back a screenshot of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...nt-post-screen-capture-image.html#post2261610 so we can advise you on how to remove the old failed setup. Try to tell us what is on each partition although much of it will be obvious to us.

Got another problem here, since this is an old laptop and it's quite small, it has no DVD drive and so, I ised a USB to install. Now the real deal is, it does not support legacy boot, so I can't repair or clean install if I don't get into the system. Now what am I to do

Make sure it's bootable using the tool in Step 2 with a fresh ISO for your licensed version in Step 1 of http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164. Then tap the Boot Menu key at boot to choose the stick under USB, Removable or HD's - you may need to expand one of those listings to see the stick by name.

The operating system had XP before and I installed 7 through the XP which was booted and it replaced the XP. So technically I didn't boot it. Since it was quite old, it doesn't support Legacy boot. But I fixed it already, I had a USB DVD drive and burned a Windows 7 and installed it. Didn't do system repair since I want to remove the XP setup boot so I just formatted and reinstalled the while thing. Thanks for the help though.

This is a laptop and I'm not a hardware type, I wouldn't wanna take off the hard drive.

For older PC's it's good to edit Visual Effects of fading, sliding, animation, dragging intact and Selection Rectangle: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11728-optimize-windows-7-a.html

I would also install 32 bit for 4gb or less RAM for best performance.

Thanks this isn't my first time upgrading, I've bent using 7 since 2009 thanks for the tips. I'm just not advanced into bios and booting.
