Hello. A few days ago, I was chatting when suddenly my computer went to sleep on its own. After i turned it on, the keyboard wasn't working at all. I have tried a lot of things, and none worked. I have tried 3 different wireless keyboards that all worked on other computers but not on mine (I don't have any usb keyboards to try). The keyboards work while booting up, so the problem appears when Windows 7 loads. The thing is: I have a Logitech Unifying Keyboard, and on the Unifying software, the keyboard is paired up and when I press any button on my keyboard, a symbol comes next to my keyboard icon, showing that the keyboard is active. PLUS the FN controls work (like Volume up, Volume down, Put computer to sleep, etc.). Please, if you have any suggestions, tell me. If you need more Info, I will try to help in any way I can. Thank you in advance.

I guess you will have to buy/borrow a USB keyboard to do this, but my first suggestion would be to reinstall the drivers for the wireless keyboard. When Windows loads, it loads the drivers for all devices installed. It either does not recognize the keyboard or somehow the drivers are not there or can't be found. That would be my guess. Are your USB ports working?

Ok so I borrowed a USB Keyboard and surprise! It doesn't work. Oh and I must have re-installed the drivers a dozen times. I have a Razer USB mouse, so that's not the problem. I thought it could be a hardware malfunction, but then it wouldn't react to FN buttons and the unifying software wouldn't react to the keys, and it wouldn't work in the boot menu. I will return it for repairs soon.

You've probably tried this - does the mouse work from the USB port that the keyboard had been plugged into?

I presume the POST doesn't bleep to indicate a "Keyboard Error" (and suggests pressing F1 to continue :D)

I've found (on more than one computer) that some USB ports (on the same PC) can supply adequate power for a "hungry" peripheral and others can't.

Haha yes I have tried that. I have tried every port this computer has.
And no, it doesn't bleep :/ and how would I press F1 if it is a keyboard error? Genius Microsoft (just like "Internet has stopped working, click here to search for solutions online")
Am I really the only one with this problem? Sick of writing on this damn virtual keyboard.
Btw thanks for your answers guys (or girls)!
