Hey 7Forums Users,

Hopefully someone with a some broad knowledge of the 'Windows 7 Schedule Manager' is able to help me setup a new task.

I am looking for instructions to setup a new task. I haven't used the schedule manager before, but if your clear on explanations, I am an IT Technical Support - so I'll know what your talking about...

Here's my problem.

I want to be able to setup a new task in which..

When I go through my 'External Hard Drive' (browsing through folders) when I open a specific folder, I want a windows notification to appear on the screen with a message.

Is this at all possible?
I have been browsing through the commands for a few hours now and am unsure which option to select and how to properly set this up.

If any user could please give me a tutorial on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Basically like this link: http://freewindowsvistatutorials.com/setupRemindersInWindows7OneTimeNotificationsRecurringAlerts.php

Except when I open or browse to a folder, a notification appears with a message.

Thanks!

At one time you could have done this by placing a autorun.inf file in the root of the folder. The autorun file would then automatically be opened by Windows when you opened that folder and the program pointed to by the OPEN= statement would be launched. That could then display a window containing whatever you needed.

Don't know if this still works in Win 7 as most if not all autorun support is disabled by default. Maybe there is a way to enabled it for a specific use?
