I need help. In my home I have an HP Desktop Running Windows Vista Home Premium and an Acer netbook running Windows 7 Starter. For some reason, when I try to connect to the desktop from the netbook, I get a message that says: You do not have permission to access \\HOME-PC. Contact your network administrator to get permission. Before, I could use file and printer sharing without a hitch, I do not know what the problem is. Could someone please help me. BTW, I have a Netgear WPN824 V.4 Router.

Welcome!

Try going into Advanced Sharing Settings (search for it in the start menu). Make sure sharing is enabled. I can't really give you any definite settings to change, but just use your intuition, whatever makes sense to change.

Hope this helps,
