Windows 7 time not automatically starting.

I have set the service to automatically start but everytime i reboot the services is stopped.

Is this normal or do i have a problem with the time service?

This is on a fresh install.

I just finished getting all of the updates.

I am using windows 7 home premium 64bit.

It's normal. Enabled, Manual, and not running is the default setting for the Windows Time service.

I had a nightmare getting my time to sync.

Isnt this service important? If its not on surely that will cause alot issues for the system. I had a difficult time syncing the time.

Manual just means that the service will only run on demand say when you sync your time, and stop running when finished. There's no need to keep it running in the background all the time.

Depending on what issue you had with syncing your time, you might take a look at the tutorial below for some common troubleshooting tips if you should have issues again. Usually if the time is off to much, it will have a hard time syncing.

Thats the problem. It would not sync in manual. I had to turn it on to sync and even then it sync the wrong time and i had to do alot of messing around lol.

Double check the items in the red warning box at the top of the tutorial I posted above to see if any may be a cause.
