Hello :

I had an ATI radeon hd 2900xtx graphics card and it started making problems distoreted graphics and such . I decided to change it and have purchased and Gigabyte -Ati Radeon HD 6950 2 gb graphics card .

My system info is in my profile (udated ).

After getting the new card , i have upgraded the OS to win 7 ultimate 32 bit so ill be able to use the ATI Eyefinty option .

The problem is that when i play games (STO. DAO, DA2, crysis ...) the game crashess and the system hangs . I am seeing the last graphics that was shown on the display , and the sound card is in a loop making an annoying sound (not playing music) . At this stage the system is unresponsive only a hard reset works . This happens at random intervals , on very rare occasions windows stops the game and then the colors are distorted graphics missing , and still cannot open any applications .

Things i have done :
-updating drivers
-updating windows
-removing drivers /and reinstalling
-reinstalling games
-formatting the systems and reinstalling everything
-have run memory test no errors
-tried a full BurnIn test no errors

I have tried all the tricks that i know , and cannot isolate the faulty process or hardware .

Is there any software that has realtime monitoring of the system processes and hardware and updates a log every few seconds , so when the systems stops to respond there is a log up to that point on the hard drive ?

Thank you .

Started runing Prime 95 about 20 hours ago with large FFTs didnt see any failures .

I ran Furmark this morning for about 10 min (Prime 95 still running) wit resolution of 1920x1080 the temperature went from 51 per GPU core to 85 first core , 91 second core and 92 on the third core (was checking temp with "techpowerup gpu-z" ).

I had a steady framerate of 60 . When i tried to access internet while running test the picture was choppy but framerate didnt go down (at least i didnt notice it ).

I also read that temp is not gonna go past 92 degrees because of a built in safety on the card .

Still running Prime 95 , ill keep it running for at least 24 hours .

Ok

I have tried those benchmarking programs and could not repeat the crash with them .

I downloaded Cpu-z and kept it in the background while runing the games , i noticed that the temperature on the 3 GPUs was almost always at max 92c .

I opened the case and turned off the post proccesing option and the problem has not returned yet .

Side note : The ATI Radeon 6950 is a very big card and it takes the whole length of the case , it splits the case in 2 basically , that means that at least one part of the case overheats , took me a while to realize this .

Thank you very much for the help ..
