No I haven't, but I see where you are coming from...
I wouldn't want the responsibility of altering anyones system remotely tbh. I think your answer lies in making a disc image and then installing W7 again from the install disc with nothing else and seeing if the option is available. Then install just your specific audio drivers and recheck again.
