Hi,

Ok so everything was working well until the last couple of Windows Updates.
There are 4 updates:

Update for Windows 7 (KB974431)
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 800F081F

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 (KB976325)
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 800F081F

Update for Windows 7 (KB974332)
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 800F081F

Update for Windows 7 (KB976098)
Installation status: Failed
Error details: Code 8024200D

These all fail in the Windows Updates. But that doesn't really bother me.

My real problem is the Windows Search function. It looks like it has been disabled, aka no search on the start button, or any explorer windows.

But in Turn Windows Features on / off, the windows search is ticked. If i try to uninstall it and untick it, click ok and i get "An error occurred and not all features have been installed". Basically saying you cant uninstall it, even though it appears to be uninstalled anyway.

Not sure if the Windows Update and the Search are linked but is there a way to solve this WITHOUT doing a re-install of the whole Windows 7. Only just installed it again and got all my programs installed.

Thanks

EDIT: also i know its not installed as when i go WinKey + F3, i get:

alertbox Search: Class not registered
