Well I was going on to link this to see if you wanted to do it - I know it is fiddle but better than clean install. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html

Brink is a brilliant fellow and will help you through if you need it.
I have done a repair install before, but I was thinking wouldn't it be better not doing it now and it getting fixed by me upgrading to windows 10 as I was going to upgrade anyway and it save a lot of work now.

Your old issues may propagate to Windows 10 though, so clean install when you do so.

Would try a few fixes before trying repair install and certainly before clean install. Download Microsoft System Readiness Tool, CLICK HERE. When you run it, it will install and create CheckSUR.log (may take some time to complete). Please post that log. Can provide you with appropriate files to replace those that are damaged/corrupt.

You can open your windows 7 disk with 7zip. Here's how to locate the correct folder for your version of win7 CLICK HERE. Here's how to replace missing files CLICK HERE. If your win7 disk has only 4 numbers files in install.wim, 1 is not started it's basic, 2 home, 3 professional, 4 ultimate. If you post your CheckSUR.log as I requested, I can help find the correct files on win7 disk.

By the way all win7 disks have the files for BASIC, HOME, PROFESSIONAL, & Ultimate. ei.cfg file in sources folder contains your version. If you change the name or delete the file it becomes all in one in options for repair install or clean install, but you have to do repair or clean install with the same version you currently have.

Glad to see that MSRT (fix)ed 51 of the errors)) Therefore, you will only have to locate the 4 (Unavailable repair files) on your win7 disk. Do you want me to find them and provide link to my Google Drive account for download?
