I work in a custom-build/repair shop. I've run into this twice now, and can't explain it:
We're a Microsquish Partner, and install the OS that we order with a new machine.
I was installing service pack 1 from my portable hard drive to PC's to prevent downloading it from Windows update every time.
Now I've run into custom built OEM PC's returning to the shop because they are getting the "Windows is not genuine" message AFTER it was installed from the OEM disk, and activated.
Someone stated to me that the service pack I was installing, was an "older" version. Not sure, but I have another PC coming in today or tomorrow with the same issue. BTW: I can guarantee the Windows disks we install are not pirated.
Thanks in advance...
Jeff
