I'm running XP Pro and my parents just bought an HP PC running Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit). I have their computer name and have tried accessing it from my PC via the Remote Access feature in Accessories, but I continue getting the message "Unable to connect".
IS this because XP Pro and W7 can't communicate between each other?

Be more specific about network setup question. (Please don't flame, I've been moving to a new house since 6am today and can barely think straight enough to type!)

Just make sure to allow remote connections on the XP box. Also make sure that Remote Desktop is allowed in through the XP firewall if it's running.

If it's over the internet, the easiest way is to use something like Teamviewer. Free and works great.

LogMeIn

I would set up a LogMeIn account get their free software if you will be connecting to their machine often the software only needs to be installed on the remote machine you can add as many remote clients as you want and access them all form your from their web site login just like checking your e mail lol...I use this constantly it works great

Windows 7 Home Premium does not have the ability to host a remote desktop session. They are able to use the client piece only. So something like LogMeIn Express, as someone else suggested maybe the best option. They will need Win7 Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate in order for you to connect to their machine using Remote Desktop.
