Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions
and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Hi NoelDP,

Thank you for the quick response. I am compressing the CBSPersist files but cant seem to get them below 8 MB. Your tutorial recommended deleting the older ones, but there werent any older ones in there (just 10/7/15 and 10/8/15). I noticed that some of the CBSPersist files were 2-3 MB and some were 19-20 MB. If I gave you one of the smaller ones, would that work.....or would it have to be one of the bigger ones??

Thanks again for your assistance, it is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi NoelDP,

Could you tell me why some CBsPersist files are 2-3 MB and some are way bigger, like 19-20 MB? Would the smaller ones contain enough information in them?

Thanks NoelDP,
Kevin

Compression of the CBS logs to a cab is something like 95% - so a 2MB cab file is around 40MB as a text file - it contains a LOT of data (mostly irrelevant to our need).
the CBS data is generally archived out every 10 days - but an SFC scan (amongst other things) will often trigger the process as well. I've found that the larger a cab file, the more likely it is to have multiple errors in it, since an error will often be accompanied by a data-dump from the processes involved.
Unfortunately, reading the files is a bit of an art - and I'm not much of an artist :(

You can always upload the files to a fileshare site and post a link?
