Actually, UEFI replaces BIOS and isn't the same thing as BIOS. UEFI is daunting at first because it is different and it gives you so much more control over your settings than BIOS did, making it look more complicated than it really is. As far as setting up UEFI for basic operation goes, the default settings will get you going and, for anything beyond that, RTFM, watch videos such as the one above, etc. I can't give much advice on OCing since I'm not OCing my machine (nor do I want to do so due to cooling issues with the tight case I'm having to use due to tight quarters and, especially, wanting the machine last a long time) but one thing that's nice about many of the recent ASUS boards with UEFI is one can get a good, stable OC by just flipping a switch or two (again, RTFM).

When I set up my machine, I had to fool around with it a bit to get the hang of adjusting fan speed, setting alarm limits, etc. but it wasn't that big a deal. Same for setting my RAM speed from 1333 (default)to 1600. I read the directions, muttered sweet nothings under my breath, and worked it out.

Even though UEFI is more complicated than BIOS, I like it better because it's actually easier to get the settings I want. It's also easier to navigate (for me, anyway) since one can use a mouse as well as a keyboard. While the largest HDDs I have right now are all 2TBs, I'm "future proofed" (strictly speaking, there's no such thing but you know what I mean) once I start putting 4TB and larger drives in the machine without having to partition the drives or other dodges to get them to work at full capacity. With Western Digital promising a 5TB HDD later this year and Seagate promising 6TB next year, this will be even more significant.

Edit: there are a few tutorials here that concern UEFI (the proper term, not UEFI BIOS), such as installing Win 7 with EUFI (it's actually pretty much the same as with BIOS with just one or two minor settings changes before starting). Again, RTFM.

That's going a bit farther than I would—I benched mine just long enough to make sure the machine would post—but it's still good advice.

Other than the correction on what UEFI is, I wasn't posting specifically at you and I'm sorry if it came across as insulting; it wasn't my intent. I was just trying to point out to everyone that, even though new and unfamiliar, UEFI just isn't all that difficult to use.

Now, Win 8 and 8.1, those scare the snot out of me. :shock:

Wiki has one of the best write ups on UEFI. UEFI has been around for almost ten years now, nothing to be afraid of. The three new machines I assembled this year all run uefi, Win installs are pretty much the same as with the old BIOS systems. Larger HHD's, more mouse support are what most well see.

I will be a while setting things the way I want them but so far this is what I got.
I will try to do the picture thing with my camera. I have to learn how to get them on my other computer.
Back to work setting this computer the way I want it.

I have a D3000 Nikon and it stores pictures on the little card installed in the camera. Yes it does have a usb cord.
Once again thanks for all you folks help.
This case is the easiest case I have ever worked with.
I would like the front door to be able to open in either direction.

IT should have either a SD or SDHC storage card which can be put into a card reader, if you have one, to transfer images. Barring that, the USB cable should work to do it, it may install software when you plug it in.

Both of my Kodak printers have card readers.
I have take some pictures and if at all possible with my 3 brain cells I will post them.
