SO close - Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver

Its a self extracting file, basically a compressed file (zip, rar, 7zip) that is saved as a self extracting exe.

Use WinRAR or 7zip choose the exe file and extract it.
There is no such option available, how you can see here ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing I can't extract from winzip as you recommended. Could u type step-by-step how u can extract from executable archive plz??

Like he said, used 7zip or WinRAR not WinZip. WinZip doesn't understand how to extract EXE files that are self extracting archives. 7zip is way better than winzip anyway, it's free and it's what all the cool kids are using ;) Download

Used the advice and still driver fails

I have an HP Compaq NX9010. Everything works great except the audio. I went to the Windows Update website and it detected all the necessary hardware drivers. However, the Conexant AC-Link Audio Driver causes audio stutters and locks up the PC. I tried the drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalog but they don't work either. It is an ALI chipset. The hardware ID is PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5451&SUBSYS_0850103C&REV_02.

Please help this is driving me nuts!!!

Thank you,
Rich

BTW, everytime I try to edit My System Specs the info I put in disappears!?
Never mind. It just showed up. My System Specs are now appearing.

hey baarod,
Thanks for the info on the hardware ID's. I was wondering, how's the tutorial shaping up? I'd love to have that referenced somewhere. might help with pesky PCI devices.

Go here: Microsoft Update Catalog

The Update Catalog had a positive hit for "VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_3091103C" which means it's an exact match, Microsoft verified and devoid of any extraneous bloatware;

First of all - My english might not be that great, because i'm danish :)

But here's my problem.. I don't have any sound on my HP dv6247ea laptop either.. Therefore i'm asking baarod kindly, if there should be any solution out there for this laptop?
Though Windows 7, does allready find the sound card as "conexant high definition audio" - But, there's still no sound :(

Here's the hardware ID's that shows up, in the device manager:

If it's not enough, then please reply of what else you may need :)
Thanks in advance..

I'm going to be a pain - I'm having the same problems! I'm running Windows 7 32-Bit on my HP Pavilion DV8387ea.

I've found the driver on the Update Catalogue but it seems to be the one I'm already running (6.14.10.597), and re-installing it has changed nothing. According to my lappy my sound contoller and driver are fine, but it doesn't sound that way!

Win 7 doesn't like Voice Modems with Conexant chips

Using Windows 7 RC1 and have spent several days trying 3 different voice/fax/modems (2 Aopen FM56-PM and Creative Labs DI-5633) in 2 different systems (Gigabyte EP45-UD3P with E8400 and Asus P5KC with E6300). Despite numerous tests with 4 different voicemail softwares, I end up with exact same results: Softwares can record an incoming phone message but won't play the outgoing Greeting message to callers. I've tried numerous drivers, Compatability settings for the software exe files, etc. All 3 of these modems and softwares work perfectly in Windows Xp on both systems so I am 100% certain this is a Windows 7 issue. If anybody has a fix suggestion, please post here. BTW, modem queries confirmed in Win 7 that all 3 modems have voice record & play capabilities. Aopen driver being used is Version 212.172.39.0 dated 9/7/2001

Repost driver

From message #10 in this thread:

This is the most ridiculous example of OEM re-branding ever. Seems that HP, who claims to be the manufacturer of this machine, bought the chipset from ALi, AKA Acer Labs, Inc. and to prevent any Acer (a competitor in the laptop market) branding, had Conexant license the part so they could then buy it from them. Note the PCI Database listing compared to your vendor and device codes: PCI Vendor and Device Lists

Hello All,

I'm not sure if this was solved previoulsy as I have not read each and every email.
For the HP dv8000 or more precisely the DV8005EA here is what I have done and that seems to work.
Please note that I am in no way an expert and if you decide to do the same procedure it is at your own risks.

ID : PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_309B103C&REV_02

So.
I have dowloaded the SPack SP35558.exe from the HP site Conexant Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (64-bit)

After extraction of the files in your chosen directory it will give you an error message. Since it does not let me install it directly because my device is not listed I modified the file CPL309Ba.inf to include the line :
%*WDM_AMCAUD.DeviceDesc%=WDM_AMCAUD,PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4370&SUBSYS_309B103C&REV_02

under the line : [Conexant]
(as far as I am aware this change should not be required but it turns out for me it is the only way it worked)

I then went to the device manager and used the "update driver" menu to force windows to use the modified .inf file.

It seems to be working fine for me....

In case you are also wondering about the TI flash card reader, the quick launch buttons and the Motorola modem also I installed the softpacks
sp38266.exe sp41773.exe and sp43509.exe from the hp site and it seems to all be working fine.

Hope this helps,
Good luck
V.

Hello all,
found this thread by Google, I need exactly the same driver for my HP Compaq nx9010 notebook, the driver from windows update is stuttering and crackling heavily on Win7RC. Can someone please re-up this file?
