“IE cannot display the webpage” after each Windows logon

Perhaps it has something to do with proxy settings in IE?
I say that because IE and FF use separate proxy settings.
So far as just accessing the internet though, they should be listening to the hardware for that.

Oh - as for completely uninstalling and re-installing IE – That’s a very hard thing to do. Windows only allows you to deactivate it but does not truly removes it. I found reports of people who did it but that is something I rather don’t attempt to do.

If you still cannot fix this problem, might I recommend Google Chrome? I started having similar problems with IE, along with many others. I have been using chrome for almost a year now and it has been absolutely flawless!

Found it!
It was Dell QuickSet that caused the trouble.
So after I uninstalled QuickSet the problem was gone. I reinstalled it and the issue was still gone. But after I set up profiles the problem was back.
Interestingly QuickSet worked fine on the previous installation.
That got me thinking and I remembered that the 64 bit QuickSet version for the M6300 is for Vista and has to run in Vista compatibility mode.
So after setting all exe files in the QuickSet program folder to Vista compatibility mode for all users it now works without causing problems. I did several reboots by now and IE worked fine every time.
