I overclocked my CPU and ram, everything seems fine. All temps were fine, did few benchmarks to make sure computer is stable. Now problem is when I try to shutdown my computer keeps restarting so have to load BIOS default to shut it off.

Any ideas whats causing it?

I can only conclude that it was not as stable as you imagined.

You need to run Prime95 for 12+ hours to check for stability or I wouldn't believe it.

You should also check your BIOS settings in case you changed something involving the harddrives.

I'll do that when I get back from work. I'm sure I didn't changed anything regarding HDD's but I'll double check.

Pushing a Q6600 to 3.2gig is really pushing it. I could never get mine past 2.9 without stability issues. I know others got 3gig and was fine, but 3.2???? Very few got there stable.... and they had extreme setups/cooling.

and keep an eye on your temps!!!

Also do you have a GO or B3? I have a B3 but the GO's are better overclockers.

It was absolutely working fine with 3.2 overclock, I brought it down to 3.0 GHz and overclocked RAM to 1333MHz thats when it started to keep restarting when I shut it down from windows. So have to load default BIOS values and now at the moment i'm running on stock speed i.e. 2.4

also what is GO or B3, I don't know :p

Not being funny but you need to know this if you want to push that processor. Anyway....

Note the red mark.

Also sinceyou say you tweaked your memory, you may want to put it back to where it was before you tweaked it and see if you're still having shutdown issues; If not, you know it's the memory tweaks.

My two cents.
