Solved diskpart/clean by accident....need to recover partitions,begging :'(

and here is the last thing I told im gonna ask if I could get this right.

right at the moment, I have a recovered mbr and partition table. then even this windows installation is unstable as I feel. so do you guys think that this mbr will get corrupt eventually. Im afraid cuz this mbr and partition table isnt pure as a clean installed windows like it was before. so is it better to reinstall everything from a scratch( I copy this data some where else and thinking of running clean all for the entire hard ), or would this be just fine same as before?

and can you guys give me any suggestion why Im having that old lagging thing even after a format? I need to clarify that there wasnt any lags when this image was made. notebook boots and ready in 1min time.

Glad to see you are back up. Because you chose to restore you are back where you were when the image was taken so any problems you had then will still be there. Once you have your data backed up you can either do a fresh install or restore the image you took with your software installed.

suspect,
since your lagging is a completely different problem than what you started with, my suggestion:

Start a fresh thread stating your problem. You will attract the attention of those who may have been there, done that.

thanks,

okay guys, here I am posting with using chrome. it did great and I have all my files and names on it. but 1 thing, cause that I wanted to clean up C: is still here I think. notebook took bout 3 and half mins to get ready to work in ful and in the first boot, I had message says windows was shut down on some error and asking wanna check it later. so problem still exist, so I think I wanna clean re installation.

and gregrocker, kaktussoft, karl, I know how important it is to backup data. but these I did not wanted to have a second copy. cuz some are very confidential. I am not keeping backups in the same drive. this was kept in here because if I had a failure while Im away from home, I can get it up and work though. thats what I had in mind keeping a backup here. Actually I keep two. this base one and one that have all the softwares installed. so I think im not wrong at there but thinking ahead as Im using a notebook and travels. I think you guys agree with that.
Everything from backup restored succesfully. Now you can boot ... sort of... went back in time when making the backup.

and of course you have same problem as then!

You want a clean install anyway?

I was hoping not. because it takes almost 2 days two set up everything same as before. everything means every software setting. especially in autocad :( I was in a hope that formatting and restoring this image will fix the issues. so what choices am I left with?:confused:

Do you know what you're talking about???? partition table has pointers to the partitions (max 4)
MBR contains partition table, disk signature and a very small bootcode. That bootcode can be refreshed easy by "startup repair" or "refresh mbr" in partition wizard.

All is fine now as far as MBR is concerned.... unless there's a rootkit virus in the bootcode

yeah, Im using live mail, so know about skydrive and google drive. and I know most of people can bypass a startup password. Even I can do that with my pen drive. but most of my folders are lockers. so its not as much as easy to crack :) about stealing, thats really unfortunate situation though. :):zip:

kado, sir thank you, you kept an eye most of the time. I saw youre online in this thread for most of the time I was here. and I was telling I may have had problems with that secomd image I told. but here I restored the base image. which is very clean and notebook should boot and be ready within 1 min with this image. and I confirm it was. but here now, it took 3nd half to be up. chrome took about 30sec to load. :/ so Do I have to wipe out all the hard drive and install and copy everything back? or would reinstallation suffice?

mbr consist of:
  • disk signature. Win7 uses it to see where it is. if you swap sata cables for example. Not of any interest now
  • partition table: List of partitions. That's fine as well.... and can't be refreshed. create partition, delete partition, and recovery software can do hat
  • mbr bootcode. Some small executable code that looks for an ACTIVE partition. It jumps to that partition and executes its "volume boot sector"
You wanna know how to refresh "mbr bootcode"?

Guess this problem is solved successfully and its time I say thank you all of you and time to rep you all. guys, I dont know you have any idea how much this data was mean to me. and I got little hurt with gregs comment that I do not value data ( and that I got a feeling he says I lied to you all) if those are not important, I wouldnt be up all night to get your comments and I wouldnt be with kaktussoft to get his comments even without having lunch. or I woudnt typ all of those long info comments with a 12 key phone keypad. you have no idea how it feels to my fingers now. but I got my price back :):):)

so here I take this moment to thank everyone with all my heart helped me.
first of all arc who gave this software and get me in contact with greg. thank you mate.

then Kado sir, you were always looking over and I do value your comments on necessary moments thank you.

then SIW, even though he yelled why havent I burnt an iso via my phone, that words gave me confidence on using this.

and Greg, you re awesome. you always concerns about safety and I have seen your comments and instructions. hats off for your help.

and F5ing - even though Im yet trying to take a meaning out of your name, you stick till the end and made good arguments where it is really critical. thank you fing (is it finn or fing? your name I mean?)

and there comes the man, kaktussoft, he stick with me for hours and helped me through this disaster :D I dont know how to thank you sir. thank you thank you. thats all I can do here.

and karl - got you loud and clear, will do as you said. thank you very much.

and I need to remember WHS too even though he didnt comment he was looking over this on my reqest.

so one last time, thank you all. I would rep you for evry comment if It allows :D

Bihan.

No, sorry I wasn't able to stick around the whole time, actually had to leave hours ago and just got back. That was when you were at a standstill waiting for power to return.

But I'm very glad your data is back and appreciate the gratitude, and I'm sure that applies to all the other members too. I'm certain you see the value of this forum too, with the slew of knowledgable forum members you're bound to find the help you need pretty much round the clock.

And I don't think you should take Greg's comment(s) as any sort of accusation. I think he was just in disbelief that steps were being taken that could've so easily nuked your precious data. Software/hardware isn't perfect so you can't expect perfect results 100% of the time. And I think SIW2's comment was just an acknowledgement that you only had a phone to work with...

However, coming as close as you did to losing all of your data, all the scolding you got here for not having it backed up, and likely a little self imposed scolding, I truly hope you start focusing on having extra copies of all that lifelong data. I know you said you would so just make sure to follow through with it.

Sure does make these type recoveries much less hectic/stessful, when you know your data is safe and sound on other media. Plus you're less prone to error without all that stress, you simply focus on getting the OS back in shape. Add data back later.

By the way, I'm aware of the pain of typing on a 12 button phone. A few years ago my daughter had a friend over at the house. I noticed that she was fiddling with something in her pocket, so I asked her what she was doing. She pulled out her old 12 button phone (with no extra software) and said she was texting. I couldn't do that with a hard qwerty keyboard! So I had her stand in front of me, hand/phone in her pocket, and send me a bunch of texts. I told her what to send, and she was ripping out text after text. Would never have believed it but everything I was telling her to send was popping up on my screen, almost error free!!! A few years ago she got an iphone that actually slowed her down for awhile, or so she said.

Oh, and F5ing is just a made up username...

Anyway, glad you're data's back. Now BACK IT UP. :) Before you're doing  again!
