Somehow I don't think you're reading steps 3 & 4 correctly. What is this....
You need to re-read the instructions. And it would help if you stated if what model your scanner is, and whether it's USB or FireWire (1398).

I checked the drivers and they are showing as c:windows/system32/drivers/kskhunk.sys and
c:windows/system32/drivers/usbscan.sys
This despite having updated the driver from the Nikon Files folder as instructed where the scanners.inf and NKScnUSD.dll files are located
Any ideas ??
