Slow boot after desktop shows but not before, windows x64

Its worth updating your softwares especially Java and remove the older ones, you can use Java's own tool from here.
Do you receive any problem errors from the Action center?
Have you used Windows troubleshooting menu? http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/472-troubleshooting.html
Now that is bugging you for so long I would say remove your antivirus and use a different one, I suggest using Avast, its very stable and runs smooth. Previously I had performance issue after I installed Comodo firewall, but after removing it, those problems were solved. Its worth trying another antivirus and run a full scan by Superantispyware and Ccleaner.

java latest version, no old ones.

no errors in action center.

not very likly that the troubleshooting menu has anything usefull, did check.

i used avast before i went for comodo and i'm using the full setup except d+ + i hate having 2 different apps aka antivirus and firewall, when i used avast i had *cough* zonealarm too that was years ago thought.
just a note, comodo internet security has NEVER been a performance troubler on this pc i mean never, if i could find another copy of the last 5.12 version i'd try a reinstall of it as i don't like version 6 atm.

antispyware apps done and ccleaner done.

thanks for the suggestions.

That's interesting as it may mean there's something wrong with Prefetch or Superfetch, probably a registry setting. There's a tool called TweakPrefetch that may be worth investigating.

I have noticed that your pc has Intel's first generation of microprocessors (Sandy Bridge), and it is known to have some performance issues. I self have a Sandy Bridge and after updating its driver I have no longer problems with those issues at all.
You can get those updates by visiting Intels support page and use its automatic function to detect your chiphttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx?lang=eng, or you can use a third party software like Slimdriver

Looked into TweakPrefetch but can't say if it did anything to be honest, set everything to default and it said to reboot, that was about it.
