Dear Sevenforums people,

I'm having some troubles with a computer which I can't resolve.
Therefore I need your expertise!

The problem:
Well, BSOD's at the most random moments. ==> ntoskrnl.exe is the faulty one.
Mostly when I'm surfing on the I-net.

The things I tried to do to resolve the problem:
The pc had an outdated USB-Wifi adapter. I couldn't find any recent drivers so I removed it and threw it away. (before the clean install). This didn't do anything.
Clean install ==> this helped for a month.
Then I started testing the RAM modules (with memtest). 2x2 Corsair and 2x1 kingston. None of the modules gave any errors.
So I tested my HD for faulty zones. The HD was 100% working.
Nevertheless I tried to work with the 2x2 Corsair and 2x1 kingston separately and tried another hard drive.
Also this didn't resolve the problem.

Back to the software I reïnstalled all the drivers I could find on the website of Asus, deleted Avast antivirus and installed AVG free antivirus.
And that's the point where I'm at now.

These are my spec:
AMD Phenom II X2 550
Asus M4A78LT-M AMD 760G
2x1GB Kingston DDR3 PC8500 CL7.0
2x2GB Corsair (have to look this on up)
WD 320GB HD
Windows 7 64bit.

I've attached the file you need in the attachement along with the minidumps.

Thanks in advance
Dimitri

First of all I suggest updating your graphics driver as it's very outdated.

You can follow these instructions if you are unsure how to update it.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/catalyst-windows-install.aspx

It's an APU. (so no dedicated card)
The auto detect and install software from AMD says the latest drivers are allready installed.
Altho I installed the newest CCC package.
Would that do the job?

So I installed the new CCC which didn't install the drivers for the APU.
So I googled it and fount the drivers for the HD3000 series here:
AMD Catalyst? Display Driver

Now they're up to date.
I keep you posted.

Sorry I couldn't help that much in regards to updating your driver.
I've never actually had an AMD card so I don't have much knowledge on their drivers and where you'd have to go to update them.

No worries at all!
I didn't knew they were so outdated.
+ AMD and support for drivers isn't good at all.

But I hope this solves some of the problems.
If it doesn't i'll reply here or mark it as solved.

Yeah that's what I've heard which is why I'm reluctant to change from Nvidia.

But yes, any more problems let me know. :)
Otherwise when you feel confident that the issue has been resolved then mark the thread as solved.

unfortunately, the issue hasn't been resolved.
Mostly the BSOD's appear when surfing. Could the cause lie anywhere there?
Shall I upload the new BSOD minidump files?

I know you've already done this but I want to make sure.

Memtest86 will test your RAM

   Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

Enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier -Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information

Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning

Before enabling DV, make sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point Manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

  • If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
  • If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Will do.
As the PC is at a friend's place, I'm going to collect it and run the tests.
But I'll try to answer asap.

Thx for the help so far.

Just to be sure,
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rzw70ai1hdgcdgq/2014-05-08 13.43.29.jpg is a screen pic.
Am I doing it right?
As in, does it check the 6GB of RAM in the same time or do I have to test in groups of (ex) 3GB?
And if I did it correct, shall I keep testing it a bit more or skip to the driver testing?

The Memtest has been running for +-12hours now.

That seems fine to me.
Have you enabled driver verifier?

Not yet. I wasn't sure I was doing it right with the memtest.
So I'll report back here in +- 24 hours for the driver verifier.
unless it should've been activated for the memtest? :/

Driver Verifier is part of Windows, no Windows drivers are loaded in memtest86 so driver verifier will make no difference.

I have been running the system with the verifier on for over 24hours now. (doing nothing on the pc)
And it didn't crash again.
What's the next step? :/

Maybe I could add on this subject that sometimes the PC just freezes with a black screen on.
Then I can't do anything but powering it off.

I changed the location of the pc, it uses an HDMI port and USB keyboard
While in the original setup it uses DVI and a few more usb devices.
In case this could be related to the problem (=
