Hey guys, advanced thanks for all of your time. I'll try to give you some basic information about my computer before it went down south..
Ok, so I upgraded to Windows 7 a few weeks ago, everything was fine, all my hardwares were compatible and my games ran fine and all that.
Yesterday, before I went out, I left Norton Antivirus on a full scan and I checked the box where it says Shut Down after completion (I dont know if this is relevant but it might help..). So today when I got back home, my computer was off as expected, and I turned it on, fired up a game (the game wasn't demanding at all) and was playing great for about 10~20 minutes then it started kinda laggin and then it crashed and gave me the Blue Screen of Death, with artifacting, which is like random white lines everywhere. So I restarted my computer and it was the same, artifacting everywhere, and some other time when I restarted it was ok and it got to the desktop screen for about a minute and then it would just freeze. I tried with another graphics card of mine, an older version, and the artifact was gone, but the crashing when it gets to desktop on start up persisted. So I went into safe mode, and ran msconfig and unchecked all of the non-microsoft application on start up thinking that it might be a program confliction issue, but it wasnt, because when I restarted the computer, it was the same, just crashing when it loads the desktop. So I got pissed and tried to reformatting the computer with the Windows 7disk, I loaded the disk in the disk tray, restarted the computer, and chose to boot from disk, but right when windows 7 screen comes up to install the OS, it freezes. =(

Then I tried to reformat with the Windows XP disk, and it went on to reformatting my hard drive, and installing all the setup files, and it went to the xp install screen where u enter the serial number and all that. Right after you enter the serial number, it will say that you got estimated 39 minutes left to install, and it went until 32 minutes and thats when the ****ing thing froze again.. I tried restarting the computer and continue to install xp, but it froze at around the same time. So I think it's definitely a hardware problem but with my futile knowledge of computers I cannot pin point the problem. So any advice you gents can provide me will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again all, and have a great night ;)

BTW, when I still had win7 installed, i could stay on safe mode forever and it wouldn't crash or freeze, oh and the graphics card that was artifacting, I called EVGA(which is the card's company) they said it was the card's problem and it is pending RMA right now.

thanks to the yearning of playing games when ripped i discovered that it was ram issue. i took out two of my 4 rams and the freezing stopped. but I put the two of those rams back and rebooted and it works perfectly normal. any ideas why?

Think McFly, think!

You're intelligent enough to figure out that ram may be the cause. So if you remove ram and system works well, what does that tell you? :D

aright, dammit i ran into another problem.. I successfully installed XP and then i tried to install win7 afterwards, and it did, it installed and everything except upon the last restart and after the windows loading screen, and before the blue screen, it stuck there with the black screen, and I am able to move the mouse around and thats about it.. could it be the ram problem again?

BTW im using 2 1 gig rams and 2 2 gig rams
