Those numbers show up as a USB3 controller,



Which doesn't sound right because that computer was originally a Vista computer.

And your motherboard specs don't mention any USB3 ports.

I'll keep looking to see if I can find something, I think a chipset driver is really what you need honestly.

Do your USB ports work?

Also can you expand the bottom USB host controller on your device manager shot and post that.

I had Installed a 3.0 USB expansion card some time ago (Don't remember the brand) it was a PCI card and just recently added a front 3.5" usb 3.0 to the front of the machine, (I/O crest USB 3.0 Internal Hub 4 Port). The later did not require drivers, I recently checked their site for drivers, but found none.

The first picture shows the usb3.0 expansion card.
The second shows the recently added front expansion card for drive bay (Attached to the first 3.0 Card).
The third picture shows the PCI location of the original expansion card.

Yes, both back and front ports seem to work fine.
I wondered about unplugging the front expansion bay, re-booting, then power down, plug in the front and re-boot and see If it loads a driver?

For those hardware ID's is from Dell, the numbers match up but I'm reluctant to suggest it.

I will say I have done that on other computers before, but it was me doing it so I could undo it if needed.

I think the reason your seeing Dell is because the disk I used to load windows 7 HP was an oem disk I purchased from trinity software. As you mentioned, the PC pc when purchased, was loaded with Vista.

Packard Bell, Acer and Sony also are listed.

That site goes by the Hardware ID's and Vendor ID's, that stuff above is what they list for drivers.

Those ones I listed above are chipset drivers for the USB3 controller.

If you want to try it, I'll post the Dell supplied driver. It automatically downloads if you highlight the full link and search,

I've had to do that before on laptops where the original manufacturer didn't supply drivers anymore.

I opened up the installer and checked the vendor/hardware numbers which match with what you posted.

Just so you understand what that site is, it uses the numbers in the hardware ID's to locate known drivers,

I used 1033 as your vendor, and 0194 as the device,



It then shows available drivers based on those numbers, and Dell is the only one actually able to download.

If you want to try it you can put those numbers in just to see how it works,

It is an .exe so it will run an installer, I would use it on my computer but that's me.

If you're not sure about it or don't feel good, you certainly shouldn't try it.

If everything is working, you may not want to bother with it.

I was just trying to help clear up that :warn: symbol.

Feel free to wait for others advice as well.

N2Abyss, some PC manufactures disable AHCI if they're using a custom/oem motherboard.

My old Dell PC board was based on an Intel P965 chipset which was AHCI capable but Dell removed AHCI in the BIOS (you could also see this when booting up, it would say "AHCI BIOS not installed").

It did have the option "RAID ON" and I was told that this would be okay for an SSD as it was using the IAStor (Intel Raid) drivers because I had 2 HDD's setup as RAID0
