Audio Popping/Crackling

Starts with the Logo... hmm.

Try safe mode to see if there is any noise present. (no audio drivers involved at all)

If there is zero noise, then it's tentatively safe to say it is a driver issue.

However if there is still noise, even in safe mode, it's not driver related.

Ok we are coming nearer: No noise when entering windows in Safe mode.....

In normal mode: Noise exactly starts at the moment between Windows booton logo and entering the logon screen....

So if I conclude correctly it must be a driver or setting issue. Strange this didn't happen after my first installation, only after the second one...

What should I try next?

Okay, if there's no noise at safe mode - that's a good thing.

The driver /audiostack loads during the boot logo sequence (as do all the other drivers etc).

You have 2 devices because of the HDMI audio on the ATI card. You could always disable/uninstall the ATI audio driver, but it shouldn't really have any impact.

Have a look through the Realtek levels/settings to make sure Enhancements, EQ etc are disabled.

I played with all parameters I found, no change. Maybe I will de-install sound card and install again. keep u posted

well re-installed everything, no change.

I already mentioned when in recording screen noise disapear. But now I noted when I disable Realtek Digital Input, noise appears also in this screen. I enable it again, sound disapear.

I fixed my issue with this problem. Basically, I'd forgotten I'd enabled the Digital Audio in on my motherboard. I'd enabled the port to connect my 360 through the PC to play audio through my speakers. I located the problem assuming it must have been some sort of change in motherboard voltage causing some sort of short, OR maybe a very sensitive input was able to detect it. It turns out this was my clue.

I resolved the problem by disabling the Digital Audio connector, by right-clicking the Volume Icon in the Taskbar and selecting recording devices. From the next screen you can see any changes in volume levels. Right there I was able to see the audio levels changing with those annoying popping sounds.

Simply disable the S/PDIF in and your problem is likely solved.

Good question. A more adequate/detailed explanation should come from somebody with a more in-depth understanding of how electronics work.

But it sounds like some sort of electrical interference. As for the cause.. :huh:

If you mute all your volume levels, can you still hear the noises?

Try disabling / muting all recording devices.

I have a Dell Studio XPS 1645 Laptop, Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i7 CPU Q 720, High Definition Audio Device, IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

The cracking and poping started about four months ago. Dell has replaced the speakers, fans and the motherboard. The cracking and poping starts when the computer is cold after being off overnight or being off a few hours. When booting just before the Windows logo the cracking and poping last about fifteen or more seconds then stops when the login window appears. The cracking and poping starts after logging in for another ten or more seconds. The sound can be heard on headphones and external speakers.

I unistalled both audio devices, updated the bios. Tried to install a windows audio device. The system reinstalled the default devices.

I tried some work arounds from Dell's sites and laptop forums no help.

I Solved my crackling usb headset.
I have Razer Kraken 7.1 on windows 7 64bit.

Go to Control Panel>Audio>Right Click and Disable your digital drivers there, for mine it is:
1) SPDIF Interface (TX0) (VIA HD AUDIO)
2) SPDIF Interface (TX1) (VIA HD AUDIO)

Dont disable your audio driver of course just your digital audio drivers.

I tried like 50 different suggestions on the internet and finally figured out the problem after months.
