How will that make a difference? It will just take a lot longer to complete.

backup length should not change but interval can be a problem try the once a week just to see change settings for schedule reboot and check status and see if it changes

I ran into this exact same issue on my system. I run Windows 7 Ultimate. I configured backups and it ran fine the first time. However! I changed the Task Manager event to have the backup run multiple times in one week and this setting seems to have done it for me. When I have it run on multiple days, the backup claims that it has not been set up yet--however the backup still runs oddly enough. When I remove the multiple day trigger and leave it at the once a week interval as the windows interface is set up to handle apparently explicitly, then the backup came back showing as normal.

really is an odd issue just another Microsoft bug I suppose lol..

I cannot set it to do any backups. I get the same error as on my last post every time I click on Set up Backup...
Now it's broke.

No. But, I didn't do anything. I'll try that and be right back...

It still won't let me set up backup. the error says:
The backup application could not start due to an internal error:
Sever execution failed (0x80080005)
The box pops up and says backup starting, but then the error box pops up.
I cannot click on Create a System Image w/o the error either.

Nope.

I have Avira AntiVir Personal Free and SuperantiSpyware Professional.
The only thing that was added recently was Microsoft Sevurity Essentials.

Do you think I should get rid of one of them. I sure like Avira...

OK, I uninstalled one of them, rebooted and logged on as Administrator and tried to get backup setup again
and got the same error.

make sure these services are running and set to start automatic:

1. Volume Shadow Copy
2. Virtual Disk

also I would run a check disk on your C drive itself

also you can try going to the Windows backup service log on tab and change from local system account to your user account and try that

First one was running, the 2nd one I started and set to auto.

I did that yesterday and it took about 3 hours (give or take)!
Do I need to do it again?

I was not able to do that because it said I would have to do a whole bunch of other stuff
(this was after I stopped the service and started it back up).

I would rather SYSTEM performed this operation anyway.
And it is still broke! But, I do appreciate your "never give up" approach.

ok here you go sounds like the recovery partition is marked active you need to change that

Thanks, but I have already been there and my C: drive is the active partition.
When I click on C: and right click on it the "mark as active" is grayed out. Isn't that
what that means? Also, I think the "C:" disappeared a few days ago from Properties
(Click on Computer, right click on C: and go to properties) where the C: is was blank.
I just re-entered "C:" there and OK.

Would it be a good idea to follow the bottom of that page and do a repair install?
It says to do it w/o rebooting. Will this mess anything up?

Here it is:



The 2nd 2 partitions are Ubuntu and none of them have the option to make active -
they are grayed out on all of them. But, as you can see the first one is active.
