browsing control panel....and it crashed.

Yeah, I don;t think they are generally available yet.

They've been flying around the net, but I can't find anyplace to get them from technet or microsoft directly.

I believe it was mentioned that only OEMs have acess to these hotfixes for producing their own installs.

However, if that is not true, and anyone knows where the Windows 7 RTM hotfix page is, it would be a really nice thing to know.

Searching MS technet and msdn sites reveils nothing but talk about them and that generally from sources on other sites.

I have been looking for them myself? can't find them on MS site? i've only seen them come up as torrents in google search. Some people don't recommend you install them as there test updates only.

I'm sure if they do the job MS will make them available via windows update soon enough?

Work in progress.
The new Intel driver 8.15.10.1872 seems to fix the problem with control panel crashing but the teal circle "busy" animation still freezes for me.

I had the same issue on my Dell E series laptop. it turned out to be the audio driver crashing the control panel. Uninstalled it and took the Windows7 default driver and all is well.
