Since you made the WDO on another machine (one that works) and you booted from DVD a virus can't be running now. It must be:After about ten minutes, Windows Defender Offline stalls. The "time elapsed" counter stops going, as does the "items scanned" counter, and I can't cancel the scan, but the shimmering bar animation does not freeze up.
There are also small bursts of disk activity (disk loading sounds, and light is lit up), with about four second intervals, while WDO is stalled.
- A faulty DVD (very unlikely... it did scan a lot of stuff)
- A faulty DVD drive (very unlikely it has already loaded in memory all it needs)
Is it a western digital disk or seagate disk? I think the disk is faulty.
