BSOD crash on first startup (new computer)

Hi,

I just bought two identical Asus Desktop computers. The first one works fine.

On the second computer, when I login into Windows, I receive a BSOD (that happens right after I enter the login password). It happened on my very first startup attempt so I did not install anything. (I only managed to select my language and create a user in the Windows setup process). I tried uninstalling the trial version of TrendMicro but it did not solve the problem.

Thank you for the very quick response. However, I did not have much success here.

I reinstalled the nVidia drivers and rebooted the computer (all in safe mode).
When I restrat in normal mode, I can't even get to the Windows login page. I see the black page with windows logo on it (Windows is starting....) and then suddently, there's no signal on the screen.

I then restarted in safe mode and checked to see if there was any new dump files.. No. So the NVidia driver fixed the BSOD, but there's something wrong with the driver since I can't get any graphic at all.

Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll have to return the computer.

Did you download BETA drivers?

No.

I downloaded the following driver:

GeForce R300 Driver
Version: 301.42 WHQL
Date: 2012-05-55
Windows 7 64 bit
French
Size: 202Mb

I have a GT 530 card and this driver does seem like the correct driver for my card.

Try rolling back to a previous version. This is a weird case lol.

I reinstalled the default driver from the Asus CD that I got with my computer and I am back at my original problem...

There's something wrong with the driver, but when I install the latest version of the driver, it is even worse. Could it be a problem with the video card itself and not the driver?

Any other ideas before I return the computer?
