BSOD external hdd crash

i have a 1TB external hard drive NTFS formatted. there is nothing on it at all as it was fully formatted on a windows 8 laptop. When i plug it into my windows 7 home premium 64bit laptop it does not show up and after about 10-15 seconds i get the bsod crash. I dont know if i uploaded this zip file right. please help

Probably caused by : partmgr.sys ( partmgr!PmGetDriveLayoutEx+5d2 )

Run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r.
Install the latest updates from Windows Update.

Do the exact same steps for chkdsk /r but instead of typing in sfc /scannow type chkdsk /r.
