BSOD Issues

Hello all - just found this forum through google. I bought this PC about two months ago now and had no issues with it until two or three weeks ago when I started getting BSODs at random times - at start up, shut down, idling, gaming, you name it. I've gotten several BSODs since I turned logging on and have attached them to this post.

CyberpowerPC is the company I bought this from and their tech support has been less than helpful at best. Thanks in advance, and please, let me know if there is anything I can do to make this easier on you.

Hey Bain welcome

these all seem to be caused by gdrv.sys which is a driver for Gigabyte's Dynamic Energy Saver Advanced program.

Since most of these were corrupted at some point by it I cant tell the dates on some of them. In any case go to mfr, download and install a fresh copy ONLY if it is nec. If it isnt remove it.

Oh, I'm fine with getting rid of it! I'm just not sure how. I worded that poorly, sorry.

Edit: I can only find the Easy Saver program from gigabyte to remove and I have no idea if thats it. It sounds like it could be.

Edit2: Found it the program labeled Easy Saver was indeed the Easy Energy Saver Advanced and have started uninstalling it. Will this also remove the driver associated with it or do I need to do something else to get rid of it?

Lets see if you resolved your problem ... otherwise, you can goto c:/windows/system32/drivers and rename gdrv.sys to gdrv.bak, then reboot your computer...

I uninstalled and rebooted my PC as requested by the program. When it booted back up it froze before starting and I had to turn the power off to power it up again. It booted normally with no issues. I have found the gdrv.sys driver, however it is inside the windows folder(and is the only one here, strangely enough). Should I go ahead with changing .sys to .bak even though it is in the wrong place?

I renamed it as instructed and restarted again. It is still there, additionally, my PC BSOD'd again shortly after reboot. I attached the dump to this post. Thanks again for all of the help, sorry if I seem slow, I just don't want to make it worse :p

BSOD'd again saying System Service Exception immediately after signing in. I didn't get a dump from this one.

More bluescreens now. It seems to be getting worse. At one point I was stuck booting to BIOS, then it crashed on the login screen, and now it did a system restore and crashed immediately after booting into windows. BAD POOL HEADER and System Service Exception were the only named errors I could see. I've attached the one new dump here.

Also, the driver that was causing my other BSODs is still on my PC but is renamed to .bak as I was instructed.

Edit: I am sitting in safe mode right now and I have no issues at all. Weird.

I am uploading a new one now. Is the one I uploaded at the top of this page done incorrectly? Sorry!

Edit for clarity: I had just read that when I posted last night at the top of the page so I added it on to that post. I had just been uploaded my new dumps after, and didn't see it before because I'm blind. I just ran CC cleaner because on a support website it said that BAD POOL HEADER was a registry error most of the time and to try that. I am running the program to give you guys an updated one to look at now.

Edit2: Uploaded now.

Mfr = manufacturer? Sorry, not sure what that means. I installed an update for this last night when I formatted and when I originally got the PC through the motherboard disc so I'm not sure if I need this driver or not.

The driver caused the DMP. Either remove it or update it.

I did as Tews instructed and renamed the driver to .bak. I believe CC Cleaner just got rid of it though, and I uninstalled the energy saver program it went with. I have been in safe mode for hours now with no bluescreens.

Since turning driver verifier on I have blue screened twice with no dump in my windows folder. Is there anything else I can upload that will help solve this? I am posting this from safe mode because if I boot into normal windows I only get a few seconds before it crashes.

Thanks in advance! Will reboot in normal mode to see if I can get a dump file for a bit.

Edit2: Dump file!

Edit3: It might also be worth noting that I sometimes have issues booting into windows normally still, yet if it does boot and it crashes I have had 0 problems loading into safe mode and 0 errors while in safe mode.

Edit4: Another Driver irql not less or equal bsod with no dump. :(

Edit5: Another BSOD with a dump this time. Uploaded it as well and booted into safe mode to see if they would continue. 20 minutes in safe mode and no blue screens.

Tried booting normally again and crashed after a couple of minutes so I'm back in safe mode. No dump this time.

Both dumps are error code D1, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. One dump was inconclusive. The other dump blames partmgr.sys, which is a Windows System driver and unlikely to be the real cause.

caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.

As you suspected booting normally with those options set resulted in a smooth load and no crash, however booting normally with all drivers resulted in a bsod with the dump attached. A sincere thank you to all of those who have helped me so far - far more help here than Cyberpower wants to give me.
