Hi to all, I am new to the forum!
I purchased a new computer a few months back.
i7 4790k
gigabyte gaming 3 motherboard
gtx 970 gpu
240gb ssd
2tb hdd
16gb ram
windows 7 home premium 64 bit
i have been having it crash quite a lot, i bought it to get the best out of fsx
I have uploaded the dump files so if anybody can shed any light on my issue I would be most grateful.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Nick,

There are no dump files in your logs to analyse.

  1. Open Advanced System Settings
  2. Click on Settings in Startup & Recovery
  3. Make sure both boxes indicated below are checked
  4. In the dropdown box ensure you're set to record Small Memory Dumps

Hi Boozad, thank you for your reply.
my setting are as you stated they should be.
I followed the tut on getting them, why do you think they are not there?
does ccleaner remove them?

Yeah CCleaner removes them, have you run it since your last BSOD? If so you'll have to refrain from using it for the time being, or uncheck the dump files before running it.

You're welcome mate. If you do get any more BSODs run the Log Collector tool again straight away and upload the new logs and we'll get them looked at.

What's FSX? I'm not familiar with it.

Microsoft flight simulator x
It is a great simulator, but it is only a 32 bit application
can I ask, i am better putting all my software onto the ssd rather than using the hhd for things like fsx and addons which can take up alot of space 10-60 gb

Ah I get you. All I have on my SSDs (two operating systems) is the OS, Office, Adobe CS2/3 and a couple of frequently used lightweight programs. I install all other programs and games plus DRMs on one of my HDDs. To be honest when I accidently installed Crysis 3 onto my SSD I didn't really notice a massive difference in loading times to when I moved it over to my WD Black. I'd install your software on your HDD personally.

Nick your single dump is a 0x4E (PFN_LIST_CORRUPT), this could be down to bad RAM or a device driver. No drivers are showing in your dump (it may be too small a sample size) so first of all I'd like you to rule out your RAM being a problem.

Download and run MemTest86+ to test your RAM. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

   Note
picture.php

Run MemTest86+ for at least 8 passes. Ideally set it off before you go to bed and leave it overnight, we're looking for zero errors here. A single error will show something's going bad with your RAM.

Code:
*******************************************************************************
*                                                                             *
*                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
*                                                                             *
*******************************************************************************

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

BugCheck 4E, {99, 307df2, 2, 307df0}

Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MiBadShareCount+4c )

Followup: MachineOwner

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT (4e)
Typically caused by drivers passing bad memory descriptor lists (ie: calling
MmUnlockPages twice with the same list, etc). If a kernel debugger is
available get the stack trace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000099, A PTE or PFN is corrupt
Arg2: 0000000000307df2, page frame number
Arg3: 0000000000000002, current page state
Arg4: 0000000000307df0, 0

That's good. Time to try and weed out the bad driver then.

Diagnostic Test

 DRIVER VERIFIER

Driver Verifier will stress your drivers and cause BSODs if any fail. Follow this tutorial to enable/disable it. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

Enable Driver Verifier but only enable these options:

  • Standard settings and IRP logging step 3.
  • Don't enable Force Pending I/O Requests
   Warning
Make a System Restore point before enabling Driver Verifier.

   Note
Your system will act very sluggishly while DV is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.

Post any resulting dump files.
