BSOD on startup - when idle

I have had a history of regular but less than daily BSOD crashes, and have activated Driver Verifier. Now I seem to get quite reproducible BSOD crashes, or crashes to black screen (I had one crash to black screen today which apparently did not leave a minidump) if I start my PC, and leave it idle.

If I work on the PC it seems to run OK.

Can somebody please help by examining the attached?
Thanks in advance
/Anders

One of your dump also shows timntr.sys Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer also included in Seagate DiscWizard as a problem. Please uninstall this as well.

Now run the system file checker:
:ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html Reboot if violations are found each time.

To make sure that hard drive is good run disk check following the tutorials:
:ar:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html and Hard drive scan usings SeaTools SeaTools | Seagate both long and short tests.

Keep us posted.

So far no problems

I removed Arconis a couple of days ago.
I have run a MEMTEST86 over night - with no errors detected.
I have now removed Norton, and replaced it with MSE.
Seatools short test was also OK - the long test is still waiting.

I will update the status when I have been running a week without BSOD, or if I see new errors.

Thanks so far!
/Anders

The saga continues :-(

Thanks for following up KoolKat77.
Yes I have had a couple of irregular BSODs - possibly related to an OKI scanner connected. For the time being I pull the plug on it, unless I need to use it.

I have also numerous freezes, which I believe may be related to suspend/hibernate - and especially it seems that I get a freeze if the computer hibernates after a boot, without any interaction. I have disabled hibernation, and will try to disable suspend as well.

Attached is the most recent SF report - I would love it if you can identify a cause...

Cheers, Anders

I told you to come back if you were having the BSoD issues :)

Anyway,

BSoD caused by: HCW85BDA.sys

You need to either update, or uninstall its drivers. (It's current drivers are from year 2009)

Code:

Well - no more BSOD - just freezes; even with the updated Hauppage driver.

Driververifier is still on so I am pushing the system, but the family have a wish for no crashes at all.

Can you make any sense of the attached?

Cheers, Anders

I don't see anything attached.

You may disable verifier now and observe the computer.
Let us know if there are more crashes.
