I just put my computer back together after 3 years of a blown PSU. Everything seems to work well and I've updated all my drivers and completed the Windows updates. BUT, my son watches shows on YouTube and he had said that it went blue and turned off. I also experienced this when I opened another tab in my Chrome browser.

I'm very new to this and followed many threads on running Windows debuggers and Windows 7 Update and so on. The last BSOD happened today.

As requested, I have attached the zip file.

Thank you all for your assistance!

jrowles91, I will try to help with this. I've looked at the dump files and have found several things. I see you have some system specs filled out. Could I get you to complete them in as much detail as possible, please. These are the instructions I usually give which will help you, if you need it.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

This is a Ralink Wireless driver. If it is part of your Motherboard, would you please go to the motherboards web site and update the driver. If it is a Wireless card you bought, please go to the manufacturer of the card and get an updated driver. Ralink RT2860 is the type of card it is, however you may have a different brand name for it. Also note, it was mentioned in at least 2 of the dump files.

This is a JMicron Raid driver. You have in your system specs listed 1 hard drive. Are you running raid or is your sata controller in BIOS set to raid. If you don't know, please look. If this driver is not needed, we will uninstall it, as it shouldn't be needed. But, please let me know the answer to those questions before doing anything.

Code:

Followup: MachineOwner

I am not sure what is up with that except the MPFilter listed is from Windows update and is the Microsoft Windows AntiMalware protection system. Please include in your system specs what anti virus you are using and do you keep it updated and do you scan often with it. Please let me know that.

I also see that you last installed your OS in 1/2011. Is that correct. That is a pretty long time to go without a clean install. Try these things that you can do and let me know if your problem improves or not. Also please make sure your Windows Updates are current. Also, if you have any further information that may help me, please let me know. Have you installed any new hardware or software recently? Did you make any system changes just before this started happening? Is there a certain program or activity you do that causes your issues?

Thanks very much, essenbe, for helping me. I am a bit of a noob with all of this.

I have update my system information with everything I could, please let me know if anything else is needed.

I'm afraid I don't know how to install the Ralink drivers. I've checked the motherboard and it doesn't appear to have this adapter. Also, I did install an Asus PCE-N53 wireless card and have updated it through the windows update. Please let me know if I'm missing something.

I have completed the reinstall of the Nvidia drivers to the latest.

The Raid driver. I had 2 hard drives originally running in raid, but one of the drives failed, so now I'm only running one. Please let me know how to remove it if necessary.

Lastly, I cannot do a clean install of Windows 7 as I have recently moved and misplaced the disc. My windows updates are current as far as it tells me.

A little more back story: a couple years ago I had this computer built and something went bad. I took it to my dad who has been building computers for longer than I've been alive and he determined that the motherboard and processor fried. Also, that second hard drive went. He thought the power supply was the culprit as the wall plug I had it in was very lose and old and the plug had fallen out of the wall outlet a couple times. Since then, he gave me his motherboard and processor which I'm currently using. After removing the one bad HD, the computer worked for a while then one day I shut it off as normal. The next morning when I went to turn it on, the system fans started but nothing ever came up on the screen.

Now to present. We replaced the power supply, graphics card, and added memory. The system boots as expected every time so I figure whatever was wrong with it before is now fixed, but now these BSOD are happening. They DID NOT happen before.

What I've noticed as far as this is happening is everytime a BSOD comes up, it's while Google Chrome is running. Once I opened another tab and it went. Once, my kid was watching youtube and it went randomly and most recently I was using Google plus to chat with a friend while playing Diablo 3. Also it has only happened after at least an hour of being run.

Lastly, I have not updated the bios or any motherboard drivers since I've been using the computer (keep in mind it's been 2 or 3 years since the computer was turned on). Is that something I should be doing also?

As far as Ralink driver are concerned, it may be your wireless card. I am not sure, but I think Ralink manufacturers cards for other companies who put their brand on them so it is entirely possible that it is the Asus card. look for your card from the Asus web site and see if you can find updated drivers for it. I'm sure that's what it is unless your motherboard has wireless on it, which I suspect not.

It would not hurt to update the drivers you need from the motherboard's web site GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3 - GA-880GA-UD3H (rev. 2.0) . It probably could use the bios update too, if there is one. But, I would wait on that and see if we can get you more stable. A bad BIOS update can kill your motherboard. They are pretty easy to do now days, but you can't risk a BSOD in the middle of a BIOS update.

By the way, look and make sure that is your board I linked to. The question is the REV 2.0. There is REV 2.1, 2.2 3.0 and 3.1. so check the rev # for your board. In fact download and install CPUz
CPU-Z CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting we may be needing it later.

Ok that makes sense. What do we do about the Raid driver? Is that what your referring to with the motherboard?

I may have ruined my wireless card. I went to Asus and downloaded the latest driver. Clicked on it as normal, it requested to unintelligible the existing driver. I restarted the computer as requested. Ran the driver again and it installed but now the "windows network diag" tool states the adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems. This is all really frustrating.

My motherboard is rev. 2.2

Go to start, control panel, uninstall a program, find the driver for our wireless card and uninstall it. reboot and on boot up install the driver again. If you notice 2 drivers there, uninstall them too If you can't find it I will tell you another method. Yes, I know it can be frustrating. I think it was asking you to uninstall the current driver first. As far as the raid driver, lets do all of this first. I don't want to get too far ahead of you. We'll take care of that next. I doubt you ruined the wireless card..

I actually got it by using the original disk. I just bought this adapter so I still had everything :).

I'm installing now the CPU Z, and it's complete. Is there a way to test for BSOD or do we just wait for the next one? And if so, when should I update my motherboard?

We just wait for the next one. We work from the dump files a BSOD creates, so not much we can do until that happens. Just a piece of advice. Never install drivers from the disk. They make the disk when the product is first released and never make new disks. So the driver on the disk is usually very old. Always go to the web site and find the latest driver. The same with Motherboard drivers. Plus the disk will install a lot of junk you don't want and don't need.

I did have another one yesterday but it was before I was able to update anything from my original post.

Can I remove the raid driver since that created a dump file also, or is that what we are waiting for?

Please can you tell me which port on the motherboard each hard drive you have is connected to. You only list 1, so that should be easy. Also, please go into BIOS and tell me what your Sata mode is. It will be IDE, AHCI or Raid. I need to know which one. The port number on the motherboard is important, it is usually printed on the board in small letters just behind the ports. Or you can look in the motherboard manual and it will tell you which port each one is, so a look inside the case will be easy to determine. Also, I believe you have 2 sata controllers. One for the chipset ports amd one for the JMicron ports. I would like to know both sata modes.

I will be getting the information you requested this evening. In the meantime I had another BSOD, again while working on the internet, with multiple tabs open. I have created another debug file if you can take a look at it.

I wouldn't replace them so quick. If you will notice, the date on the wireless card drivers is the same now as it was the first time it popped up in the dump. That means either your update didn't install or that there is no newer update for it.

In all honesty, I don't know. We will try a few things and see. But, so far, I'm not at the point to tell you it's bad. Is it still under warranty? Which manufacturer is it?

I believe I have 15 days. It's EVGA. I was thinking maybe I will upgrade it since there are new deals. I have 5 more days before it's up
