Hello,

As the title says i am trying to do a clean install of Windows 7(or any version for that matter) onto a friends oldish computer.
I am at a loss lol. The short and sweet of it is this error code presented on a BSOD after 10-20% of Expanding windows during installation.

stop : 0x0000007E (0xC000001D, 0x8BAB9273, 0x87f47A40, 0x87F47620)

I am fairly proficient with computers. So i have spent some time on this issue trying different advice i found online, but so far nothing. I do not know what to do to pinpoint the problem.

I have ran Windows memory diagnostic extensively(like 7hrs), and that turned up nothing. It is a brand new HDD i have tried 3 so far. Like i said above it is a clean install so nothing in the drive could be doing this. I have tried removing the USB stick for which the systems wireless mouse and keyboard use to comunicate with them computer and switched to a PS2 keyoard. Same error.

This is a HP Pavilion m7480n

As far as i know it can handle 7, or am i wrong? I "had" XP on it a while back when i got it but my friend had brought it to me complaining of BSOD's to the point where it couldn't be used they were so frequent. I figured corrupt hdd and opted for a new hdd and a clean install.. now im stuck lol So if anyone can offer assistance i will be most grateful as this has become quite the headache.
