Cannot partition unallocated space on 4TB hard drive

Okay last attempt before I give up.

I went to command prompt and convert to GPT. It says successful. I don't create prinary partition of anything like that and proceed to install windows. i select the disk to install windows and it lets me but I noticed the disk doesn't say anything next to if whereas when I did the prinary partition before it had GPT as disk type but when it I sekevt that GPT paryition disk it says windows can't install. It's like a never ending nightmare. Let's me do one thing but not the other. Can't have GPT andinstall windows on it apparently.

I have a headache and that seagate wizard thing is looking mighty tempting.

It could be a motherboard/bios setting/capability issue.
Is this PC UEFI capable, and is it set to UEFI ?

You need to find the manual for your PC and/or motherboard.
If it's a pre-built PC include the make and model in your SF system specs.
It it's some type of custom built, include the motherboard make and model in your SF specs.

This tutorial by Brink can help with updating SF specs:

With this info others here can help you find the manual or additional info.

I found an MS forum thread that sounds like the same issue you are having.
It's 18 pages long, and has been going on for over 3 years.
It's all over the map on what works, what doesn't ...
