hello,

turn on computer and monitor never lights up, just blinks the blue light. so i turn off computer with off button and reboot n it works fine. event viewer shows 2 errors at that time:

one is that boot start driver RxFilter fails to load. I read that is roxio file and i have roxio crator 9 which only runs on win7 with a patch i had to install.

other is WHEA logger fatal hardware error reported by processor coremachine check exception/cache hierachy error. Of course there is a lot more text there but that is the basic item

Unfortunately the rest of the information there I don't understand and I could not open a dump file given, not that I would know what it means lol.

suggestions? Maybe uninstall roxio and buy the version rated for win7? hmm

btw havent added anything new to the computer in months.

thanks,

Msongs

Lets start at square one try booting in safe mode, what happens? If your problem is intermittent, try in safe mode a few times.

If the problem is gone, try this to find the reason

error message for this event says fatal hardware error.

will try the suggestion in the link this weekend when I have a f ew hours to play with things.

today's failure to boot (never a problem once booted) is fatal hardware error event ID 15 but of course it doesn't give any clue what hardware. that would be too simple lol.

do apple computers have these problems or is only the quality control issue of PC products?
