roller coaster of emotions here

well then i'm sure you'll be glad to continue helping me since this time the computer froze. after about two hours of a great time with it it decided for some reason (this time) to freeze and not to show a BSOD.

I see some DistributedCOM errors at the time before the freeze, event id 10005

Yeah. Delete anything on the system that begins with avg, whether it's a folder or a file. You can use the search box in the top right of Windows Explorer while at the root of C:

Look in C:\Users\All Users too.
C:\Users\{your user name here}\App Data\Roaming

After deleting everything you can find, run jv16 Powertools set on most aggressive registry cleaning. If you can't find that available somehow, use CCleaner's registry cleaner instead.

Reboot and AVG stuff should be gone.

AVG Removal Tool: AVG Antivirus and Security Software - Tools download

Do you have other similar USB controller drivers on the system?
I wonder if this is a broken USB port? That may be causing the problems for you.

Right click on the unknown USB controller and select Properties.
Then select the Details tab, then select Hardware ID in the dropdown box
Copy down the 4 characters immediately after the VEN_ and the 4 characters immediately after the DEV_

Also, check the other USB controllers to see if they've got the same characters. If so, then it's most likely that that port is damaged.

What I can't understand is that disabling the device should keep it disabled even with a reboot. Could you try this again to see if it works? Do not uninstall it, just disable it.

hey

i used the jv16 software to clean the system and the avg remover tool and yet computer froze after about an hour or so.

regarding the usb host controller. it simply says UNKNOWN DEVICE. no info about it. same thing appears under hardware ID.

the only info about it is that microsoft is the driver provider and it dates back to 21/6/2006 and the driver version is 6.1.7600.16385

how come those following drivers failed to load? whats trying to load them?

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
AvgLdx86
AvgMfx86

thats another error thats occured in the hour when the system froze:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:

I'm pretty sure that this is being caused by that unknown USB device.
If you can't remove it from the system, then I'd have to suggest a new motherboard (but I'm not spending my money here - so it's your choice).

Good luck!

Regarding this usb driver which is mark as an unknown device which is unrecognized

We can try something.

Right click it in the device manager. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste the results to a new post.

I'll see if I can find a driver for you or alter an existing/closely related one to install for you.

hey again

the only thing that shows up there is:

USB\UNKNOWN

under Device Instance Path it says though

USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\6&2CA605F6&0&4

dunno if that helps somehow

and this is under Parent:

USB\VID_058F&PID_9254\5&73cd85c&0&4

under this under Sibling:

hey guys

i'm aware that it's probably starting to annoy by now but i'm still suffering here from these BSOD's. I wanted to know if there's any news about driver files that might help me solve this Unknown Driver issue. I'm also adding the last minidump file (from a minute or so ago), maybe there's the slightest chance it will help shed some light on this topic.

just really frustrating here to buy a new computer and to have to spend all that time trying to figure our why it's working against me and not with me.

thank you guys anyhow for your help.

Your network driver never seems to get updated:

nvm62x32 nvm62x32.sys Fri Oct 17 17:00:39 2008

So use the device manager to install it manually by using the extracted folder from the 15.51 download.

Do the same for the SATA controller driver:

nvstor nvstor.sys Wed May 20 02:44:09 2009

hey.

windows insists that i have the latest drivers installed. i dont really know how to bypass that. i tried to cancell the automatic installation of drivers so i have the option to reinstall them by giving in a specific director for the computer to look in but it dosen`t help.

i don`t really know as well how to make sure what version of the driver i have installed on my computer as oppsed to the new one.

well

i've updated them. at least i think i did. still going slightly mad here cause no hour goes by without a BSOD.

are those drivers the correct ones for my computer? the motherboard that i have is 630a / GeForce 7025 and 15.51 version doesn't support this motherboard (at least so it says on the nvidia website).

once i updated the wireless network adapter it didn't work anymore so i had to go back to the recommended driver and to install it.

i've also contacted the manufacturer but until i get an answer from him i'm kind of lost here. still believing that i can solve this by myself.

sorry if this unsolved problem is starting to get on someone else's nerves besides mine...

i attached the minidumps from the last hours

Ah...alright then. I incorrectly assumed that the 15.51 would support your board because it is in 6 series as guru3d.com shows. But you're right, not for your 630a.

Install the chipset and SATA drivers from here instead and hopefully issues will be solved:

ASRock > Products > Motherboard > N68-S > Download

I'm not at a pc where I can check the dump files. That link is for x86. Change to x64 if that's what you have.
