Yikes

Memtest® is WAY out of my league. I managed to burn something to disk and looked over some of the "commands" in the 20 page ReadMe file and frankly...I am completely lost. I'm certain to feel like an idiot (again), only for much longer than 5 minutes.

The only experience I have with BIOS is during a reboot. To do so successfully, I have to:

1 Strike F12 on the first screen to allow me to select my boot “source”
2 Select the SATA drive and hit enter
3 Finally, on prompt, I select F1
4 Only then can I see the familiar opening MS screen animation which takes me to the select user screen.

If I reboot without pressing F12, the computer continues to reboot repeatedly. It’s funny that I’ve gotten used to this process as “normal”, but I just figured something was corrupted and I was lucky to be able to log on at all. Thank goodness for Win 7’s stability. Using XP/SP3, each reboot was accompanied by prayer, incense, chants and occasional animal sacrifice.
