CPU temp way high

What CPU cooler are you using? Like alot have said, the best thermal heating always helps. This forum has helped me alot and all the best to you m8.

Just curious on your opinion on what I should do....

These are my results:
System: 103c
CPU: 67c
AUX 104c
HD0: 35c

Everything but the hard drive is running very hot...

I think the computer works just fine. I installled windows 7 with absolutly no errors. I think that it just needs a good Mary Poppin's cleaning.

But I was just wondering if anyone could give me some recommondations on a good heatsink for a Processor socket: AM2+

So I check my bios and everything, Quiet and Cool is on, I took off the Cpu fan to find that some pins on the Cpu were bend, I straightened them and put them back into the slot but now, I have a even bigger problem, My computer wont even turn on, all the lights and fans are working fine but there is no display on the screen

Anyone know whats going on?

Look @ this CPU cooler. Newegg.com - XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 120mm Long Life Bearing CPU Cooler bracket included I7 i5 775 1155 AMD and dual fan push pull compatible It does work on the AM2+. It's the one I use. I looked up your computer. The case is a mid-tower ATX so I think it should work.

I really am. It's quiet, easy to install, and looks cool Read the reviews on it and look @ some others too. Lots of choices out there, but that one is highly recommended (5 "eggs" on 52 reviews). Let me know what you decide. Just interested.

You know I sometimes come to believe that when women say they clean the house. They only clean the outside.. never move anything. Take things apart to clean them. The lady I got it from was alone and her husband was in Iraq. He is the high tech one i presumed.

She told me that this has been happening ever since she bought it but I don't believe it. I would have given it 4 months without ever blowing it out. I have seen some computers that had lots of dust in them and I have taken off the heat sinks but never in my life have I seen one this filthy.

There is this guy that seems to have exactly the same model that was on it that lives near by. If i can't get that one I will definitely get one very close to the one you choose. I am not looking for a high speed one, especially when this is a base modeled PC.

I say always do what works best for you, your machine, and your budget. Hope it works good for you. Some people just don't understand how important cleanliness is in these machines (or don't care).

bump. HELP major problem, I opened my computer took out the cpu and fan, found that the cpu had some bent pins, i straightened them then put them back into to slot, Now my computer will start but i see no display on the screen, all plugs and everything are all the same nothing has changed but the few unbend pings.

Can you take a detailed photo of your mother board with the connections still attached....


Also... i know this is a dumb question to ask and its not like people have thermal paste just lying around.. Did you clean off the cpu and head sink and reapply the paste before reapplying the heat sink again/

I was also wondering if you kept yourself grounded as you were working inside the case?

Yup... a little device called New Balances. lol

I got it to work. Once I cleaned the fan.. it went from 67 down to 34c... but becuase the dirt has been on there for so long and hurting the fan. It messed with the barrings... I can hear the fan going but at least its keeping the cpu cooler now. I still ordered a new heatsink and fan to replace the stock one.

Another thing that caused my computer not to boot the screen up was the 5volt plug in the motherboard... usually next to the cpu.... I forgot to plug that back in and the compter powered on but not the rest of the devices on the mother board. I would just try to take a look at my connections again... step by step...

If they all look god.. You may have to take off the Heatsink... Wipe off the old paste with alcohol and make sure you don't see a burn spot in the middle. Most CPU's that burn will smell burn. Then, wipe off the old paste off the heat sink and reapply the new past... about half the size of a pea... once it heats up, it will spread.

I was grounded as for reapply the thermal Paste I did not. I'm going to have my friend check on it just to make sure it wasnt me bring stupid then if the CPU Is fine I'll go buy a new fan and heatsink
