Most reviewers these days say what they think they are supposed to say. I've honestly wondered lately if several of the reviews I've read were actually from people that had played the games. It seems they play for five minutes then write for two hours.
I don't know I'm getting really jaded a lot of the most fun I've had in games lately was from games that received horrible reviews. Like bulletstorm... not it's not cerebral no the story makes little sense and yes the characters are a bit cliche and horribly developed. You know something though, the game doesn't take itself seriously and neither should you. It's an insane joy ride of foul language jokes that are so horrible they actually are funny, and some really creative combat systems.
For all of these reasons the game received horrible reviews.
At the end of the day all the reasons I was told to hate it was exactly why I loved it though.
I wish I could quote some of the in-game jokes and stuff here, but these are family friendly forums so I have to restrain myself.
