DVD Problem on my laptop

Hi all,

My DVD stopped working he bios dose not recognize it so I guess I need to replace it.
The problem I have is I tried an external DVD, but the drivers will not install so it will not work either. I hope someone can tell me if this is usual?

Hi Dan were the drivers win 7 drivers or were they older? If older you will need to install them in compatibility mode.
to do that right click the installer>properties>compatibility>pick OS
