Hello everyone,

Today I saw 14 important updates for Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit I believe I successfully installed them, at least that's what it shows. However, now every time my pc boots I receive error 0xc0000005 for various programs. Furthermore every single .exe file I try to launch or install doesn't work. It either loads indefinitely or I receive error 0xc0000005

I haven't installed or updated anything this week so I don't know where the problem lies. Writing from my laptop because can't open any internet browser either

Thank you for attention

I am having the exact same issues. In fact, I am having it on 2 of my computers. This started happening this morning, after both of my computers spontaneously restarted. I have disabled all non-microsoft programs and the error is gone. The error only occurs with non-microsoft programs (i.e. steam, google chrome, etc).

Well I get it with all programs here, starting from steam or google chrome to Microsoft office. Only IE 10 somewhat works. By somewhat I mean I get IE is not responding instead of error. Tried to reinstall windows from a CD but it doesn't boot after clicking on setup .exe

I just tried to do a system restore to before the update but the computer now blue screens even when i try to go into safemode. I am going to try a earlier restore point.

**Edit**

I got it to stop blue screening and am still trying a previous restore point. I can confirm the exact issue OP is having, including IE not starting up and being slow.

Thanks a lot. I used system restore point just before the update and then tried installing updates one by one. Made kb2859537 hidden and installed every update except that one and it works flawlessly now.

rosefox: make sure you hide the update once you uninstall it because it will re appear in windows update again
If you do not know how to do this
Bring Up Windows Updates
put a check mark in that update and right click
Left click "Hide"
It will grey out- that is how you will know it did it

now you will not see it again until you click on: Restore Hidden Updates

Go to control panel
Click on program and features
On the left side of the list you will see View Installed Updates
Click it
Once it loads look through the list of Microsoft security updates and find the KB
Double click it and it will begin to uninstall
A reboot is required
Then follow the instructions I gave Rose to hide it so it does not try to reinstall

What do you have on your machine -specs, software loaded as hiding is not a solution. Is someone here willing to help us all out by opening a free support case with Microsoft? If so email me at susan-at-msmvps.com (change the -at- to @) and I'll put you in touch with Microsoft support.

Hi. The kb2859537 update has been installed on my PC since Tuesday. I haven't had any problems so far (at least none that I've noticed!). Should I uninstall it?

Sue, take a look at the other threads on this issue and you should get your answers
Look at mine that says. Windows updates, any problems. And all the others
I am the robinb9 or robinbk99 that has posted on the Microsoft site with this issue, I only had a slowed down computer but the rest here had major problems
