Several issues of varying importance.

First and foremost from Feb 14th till today you have a disk paging error that repeats itself daily. Run a chkdsk

Second Your disk bench software is hanging and should be removed.

Third You MCEBuddy software has remenants left over and should be removed

Fourth, you have net framework issue (needs to be uninstalled then re-installed)

and there is much more.

Malwarebytes found 2 threats, which I have disabled and restarted (see log txt). Removed MCEBuddy. Have run chkdsk. Done a net framework repair (is that ok?). Can't seem to locate disk bench software, but will keep looking. And the much more ??? Now found and removed disk bench.

still more crashes

Has crashed 3 times in last 15 mins or so: the latest whilst I was trying to get a new event log. I will try again and post it with this as edited version. (Am using MacBook at moment). Drat! It keeps telling me invalid file. will keep trying.......
I must be doing something wrong. Is it the filename perhaps? Tried newfiles.evtxt and some others.
Here we go. Forgot to zip.

In addition to the disk check Ken recommended, try running a HDD Diagnostic. I recommend SeaTools for Windows:

SeaTools for Windows | Seagate

To run chkdsk, Start > "cmd" > "chkdsk /r".

Only certain file types are allowed as uploads here; try sticking the log in a ZIP file first, and then uploading it.

Cannot run the chkdsk, as it says I need elevated privileges. I am user/administrator. I have temporarily disconnected the external hdd. Getting constant crashes. When I go start>chkdsk> I can right click on the CHKDSK.exe and run as administrator, but it only runs in read-only mode. When completed it closes. Noo feedback?

One thing you can try if the BSODs are too severe is booting into Safe Mode. If there is any software causing the problem, it should be disabled in Safe Mode. If the BSODs persist in Safe Mode, then we can resort to bootable hardware diagnostics.

To run chkdsk an Administrator, right-click on cmd.exe when it appears and select "Run as administrator".

Am going to have to leave this overnight. Thanks Jonathan and others. Will probably have to review in about 20 hours' time as busy day tomorrow. Don't seem to have been able to improve situation. BTW I seem to have a Z-drive, which I think is a virtual drive I somehow created when I initially attempted to setup network with Mac and old XP PC. Other problems have made me put it on the backburner. I think it is only a file sharing medium, but as I said, I haven't got around to following it through. Sure have difficulty in finding files and docs though. Previously all I had was a C drive. Now I have software on C (SSD) and everything else is on platter hard drive F. Goodnight all.:sleepy:

To run chkdsk, run it from the command prompt, not directly. From the start menu, enter "cmd" , right-click on cmd.exe, and select "Run as administrator". In the console, run chkdsk /r. It'll stay open that way.

The Z drive is indeed a network drive; if you don't want it, you can right-click on it in My Computer and select "Disconnect network drive".

Go ahead and disable Driver Verifier for now; that will at least reduce the frequency of the crashes until we get them figured out for sure.

How do I disable driver verifier? I am in Safe Mode on PC (typing this on Mac, whilst running Malwarebytes full scan again). Will leave PC in safe mode overnight if it stays open till I go to bed. That way I can see if it has stopped overnight. Scan finished, with no problems reported now. CHKDSK also reported no errors.

To disable driver verifier, open a command prompt as administrator ("cmd") and enter verifier /disable. Driver Verifier doesn't run in Safe Mode, though, so you don't have to worry about that until the morning.

Hope all goes well, we can pick up when you return!

EDIT: Just noticed post 29; be sure to also run SeaTools on your main C drive.

Since it seems the problem may be software-related, perform a Selective Startup in Safe Mode. Disable all 3rd-party services and all startup items, and boot back into Normal mode.

Hi Jonathan. Am back, just briefly. Cannot disable verifier in method described. Tried with spaces too, but still says ignoring unexpected parameter. Did have a couple of crashes in safe mode, but far more when I reverted to normal. One of the error messages suggested might be a problem with bluetooth usb for keyboard/mouse. When I installed software for logitech, the combo drivers seemed to have a different model mouse (more buttons/wheels). Have had problem at times when it somehow changes keyboard language, and some upper case keys don't function as they should, e.g. @ comes out as #. Reverts to being OK when I change back to English(US).
Just crashed again. Attaching perfmon report.

I'm sorry...I gave misinformation; the correct command to disable driver verifier is verifier /reset, not /delete as I had posted.

I'm still seeing pfc.sys trying to load upon boot. Have you figured out what program that belongs to? If so, uninstall it. If not, start by disabling MacDrive 8 from starting automatically.

Again, try that Selective Startup as well.

Jonathan: Did the MacDrive8 deactivation. Said restart needed, and as soon as I did that I got BSOD crash. Have done verifier reset, and restarted again in normal mode to see what happens . . . Isn't it past your bedtime in NY? My phone tells me it's after 11pm Wed. It's 12:48 pm Thurs here.

There seems to have been a couple of errors with drivers for my second optical drive:confused: but all seems ok when I view device manager.
Is this the error you are referring to?[extracted from event viewer logged today 12:16pm)
\SystemRoot\SysWow64\drivers\pfc.sys
000000000200300000000000240400C0000000006C0300C000000000000000000000000000000000

Not that it means much to me.
The Optical Drive error looks like: The driver \Driver\pfc failed to load for the device IDE\CdRomHL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GH22NS50________________TN03____\4&f58e17d&0&0.3.0.
