When installing games, is it better to let them install into their default directory or can I safely create a folder on my C drive labeled games? I ask this because I read that Fallout 3 and Oblivion run better from a separate folder than their default directories and they do both run fine from the games folder on my C. Thanks!

Defaults are there for a reason - and games will always run better if you have a system with grunt not where you stick their files.
