Hello, friends.

I have Win7 running pretty well, now and most of the software is up and running. That is, except Google Earth. There is no way this program runs on my machine under Win7.

I have it running fine under XP, but something happens with Win7 that crashes the machine the moment the program starts.

I have uploaded my system specs below and will appreciate any suggestion.

Many, many thanks in advance!

Hello mcquicker,

If you go to User CP and fill in your system specs there, it would be much easier for everyone.

Google Earth is running fine here without compatibility mode. Do you have the latest version?

If so, you might try running it in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html.

Hope this helps.

Working for me. Just downloaded it in Windows 7 64-bit. It could be that you haven't got Java installed.

Well, I give up. There is no way. I've reinstalled Win7 three times, trying out different ways of installing Google Earth, and none of them work.

Last time, only Win7 and Google Earth in the machine and it crashed. Any last thoughts before I give up on Win7 until I have money to buy a whole new machine? :)

My XP works like a charm with Google Earth. Same drivers, same old hardware.

confirmed (mobility radeon x600)

But the problem only occurs when starting google earth in directX-mode. If you start google earth using OpenGL, it won't crash ...

sorry for my bad english ... ;)

Any using Google Earth with Win7 on a 32bit machine with an ATI Radeon 9600 video card? If so, what is the driver version of the Radeon 9600 video card.

I have no doubt the problem I am having is related to the Radeon 9600.

I've tried several versions of its driver and none work with Win7 and Google Earth, no matter what.

Thanks for the help.
