Solved Hard drive won't shrink

Hi there,

I was hoping somebody could help me here! I have two WD scorpio blue 500GB hard drives in my laptop and both have ~150GB free. I wanted to shrink the C drive (it doesn't have any other partitions, just the main one). So it has a capacity of 465GB and 154GB free. So, I'd like to shrink it, however, the windows disk manager will only let me shrink it a very small amount. I have a screen print attached that will hopefully aid my poor explanation!

Did you defrag the disk first? You can't shrink more because:

• Files are in the space you want to shrink
• pagefile or hibernation file are there
• MFT backup is there

Best way to do it, is:
Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online The home version is free!
Then resize the partition using partition wizard How to resize Partition for Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 or Windows XP/7/Vista with partition magic manager software? Move/Resize Partition Help.
