No your PC is not dead or it wouldn't power up and access the Command Prompt as its already done.

Win7 is not starting which requires a series of steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start. Click the blue link to start them now, post back results as you go.

The steps try everything possible to start Win7, test your hardware to make sure there isn't a failure there, and then if it will not start lead up to rescue your files to run Acer eRecovery Management - Restore Using ALT - F10 Recovery or do the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

how do i

Dumb question. But if I needs to create a system recovery disc to a USB stick can this be done

any other way on broken computer as I have a black screen and curser

The tablet I'm using doesn't have a USB bit to plug in

sorry I'm a beginner adont know what I'm doing

You may need to borrow a PC to download and write the Win7 installation ISO for your licensed to stick using Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool.

Otherwise you can try accessing System Recovery Options via the F8 key at boot. Tap it vigorously to try to trigger the menu choices as shown in blue link. Proceed with steps given earlier.

Don't worry about being a beginner as we will help you as much as is needed. Just keep asking back questions. No question is stupid, only the ones not asked.

sorry need help again

OK so I went into the link for startup repair

Number 1 says. Go into bios setup so I push delete

I don't understand what to do in the blue screen or what to select

Do you have your Win7 disk in the drive and are wanting to boot it to run Startup Repair?

Reboot and tap the Acer F12 key to trigger the Boot menu, select the DVD drive to boot.

If you don't have your Win7 disk yet, you can first try tapping the F8 key at boot to see if it will boot into System Recovery Options which is another way to run Startup Repair.

If this fail you need a Win7 disk it can be made from the link I gave you in my last post.

If you want to skip trying to repair it and just rescue your files to run Acer Factory Recover or a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7, you can also do that from the links I've already provided you. Just let us know what you need.

Try the System Repair Disk. It shows in the blue link how to navigate it. If not look at Startup Repair

But you are still only telling us that you want to run a repair from boot. Can you also tell us why you want to do this repair? Does it not start? What error message are you getting? What are the exact symptoms?

You were helping me before I got locked out of my computer both users so I asked what to do then in this time while I was trying to do what you told me my computer wouldn't respond to anything. Then black screen with cursor then u told me to do a repair in this way with f5 repair windows seven

I get to. System recovery options it tells me log on as local user but it only gives home group, updates I can't delete and type local user and my password not working

There should be a drop down menu which allows you to choose your User name. If not try Admin. If you have a password you'll need to type it in. If that fails, click OK without a password.

If this fails, burn to DVD the Win7 installation media ISO from Win7 Home Premium x86 SP1 English Official ISO download with the tool provided in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 Step 2. This will allow access to System Recovery Options without a password to try the repairs, or if you want just skip to Step 3 to rescue any files and continue doing a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Just a thought.

Could this computer be Password Protected by Acer including the bios.
