The problem is likely that you have the page file on D:. It won't let you delete it while in use. Change it back to C: before trying to manipulate the partitions.

Right click on computer icon select Properties, click on Advanced system settings. In the system properties go to Advanced tab, click on Settings button in Performance section, go to Advanced tab and click on Change button in Virtual memory section.

If you see no values in D: partition then there is no pagefile in D:.

If you see the D: drive with Page file size in MB (4096 or any other number), Select D: and click on No paging file and press Set button.

Make sure your C: drive has a paging file of sufficient size. You can use the recommended value shown in the bottom of this dialog box. Close all the windows by pressing the OK button. You will be asked to reboot for these new values to take effect.

After reboot again go back to the same screen as above and check to see there is no pagefile in D: drive. Now you may attempt to delete the partition.

If you see no values in D: partition then there is no pagefile in D:.

...

If you look at the screen shot, Disk Management shows the D: partition had the page file. That's why it wouldn't let him delete it. Seems strange somebody got it there but can't put it back on C:. But then maybe the PC came from someone else who set it up. Or he changed it so long ago he can't remember how. :)

Well you`re right, it wasn`t me the one who installed Windows 7 on my PC, it was the same person that made two partitions.

Unfortunately once you are running with pagefile.sys in Windows there's no way to disable/delete it without a reboot (unless there's some "undocumented" trick I'm not privy to.) :)
