HP XP software for printer/scanner won't install on W7.

I have a HP Laserjet 3050 PCL 5. The scanner software worked great with XP but won't install with W7. Has anyone found an alternate software? The printer is an all in one and it doesn't make sense to have to replace it because of the software. HP has been no help.

these are the Win 7 drivers you could also try the vista drivers in compatibility mode http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html

For what its worth I've used Vista drivers for my old Brother laser printer on Windows 7 64 bit without having to use compatibility mode. YMMV

Thanks for your responses. Actually the printer prints OK, but the software for the fax and the scanner do not work. When I try to install the software it does not recognize me as an administrator. The OS is 64 bit and I assume that is the problem. It stops and shows teh OS is an error and will not go further. Is there a work around?

Did you try the latest drivers from HP, that Pebbly linked to?
