Today, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my laptop. Right now i am writing on my other computer. The specs that you will see are my laptop's. When I was at Windows 7 Setup, it told me if i would chhose to install some important updates during installation or not. On my first try i selected to install tose updates but it came with an error (I don't remember the error code). On my second try, i selected not to update during installation. After that Windows 7 was being installed on my laptop. After the installtion had finished, it took me to the desktop (I created an account of course!). When i wa on my desktop, I saw that i had no internet connection. I tried updating my drivers through Device Manager, to install generic drivers but that didn't work. On my other computer that was working fine I installed a file called Driver Talent. I heard that
it updates your network drivers offline. I saved that file on my USB 2.0. Then when i plugged my USB into my USB Hub because my 2 laptop USB 2.0 ports didn't work. My USB is not being recognized by Windows. Right Now, i cannot do anything. I cannot get to BIOS/UEFI becuase my laptop's keyboard does not work (it has a problem with the buttons, not the drivers) and i use another keyboard that isn't being recognized too! What can i do? please help :(

If you are not on line then Windows can't find/update drivers. You only option in that case is to install needed drivers by downloading from HP using a different PC. Copy them to a flash drive or CD. Take that to the HP PC that needs drivers and install. That should get you the needed drivers.

I don't know what the install procedure is on an HP, but on many other the correct install sequence is to (1) Install Windows (2) install motherboard chipset drivers (in your case Intel chipset drivers) and (3) Install device drivers. The chipset drivers are key to a successful installation. One of the things the chipset drivers do is identify all the devices on the motherboard so device drivers can be installed. If the devices are not identified, even if you have device drivers they cannot be installed.

OK. But my USB isn't recognized by Windows. What should i do then? Should i replace the hard drive?
Or the Windows will automatically recognize my USB becuase i have my drivers stored there to be installed.

I know how to install Drivers from HP. It is actually very easy but my problem is my Network and Windows not recognizing my USB

If you installed Windows, you have to have some keyboard or mouse interaction to start the install. If it works there, it should work later in the installation. I would not install any other program, such as the Driver Talent, or anything similar. They rely on having an internet connection and to be honest most techs will not recommend or use programs like this.

Where did you get the Windows OS install that you have? Did it come from HP or is it a copy from somewhere?

I have mouse interaction and i can use something that windows can do with the keyboard, it somehow creates a keyboard in my laptop screen. Ok, i have deleted Driver Talent from my USB.

I started downloading HP Drivers for my laptop. (And of course, i checked the model number of my laptop)
Should I store the files of the drivers on my USB?

My laptop has a copy of Windows 7 from Microsoft. I had a license key too!

Yes, download the HP drivers to a USB on your working PC and use them on the other. Hopefully it will work.

I'm about 1 hour drive from Tarpon Springs Florida where the Greek sponge diver community is. I visit the Greek restaurants there often. Very good.

Ok, what do you mean when you said: "Yes, download the HP drivers to a USB on your working PC and use them on the other"
What do you mean when you say "on the other" ?
Did you meant on my laptop?

OK. I am downloading drivers right now(I have a slow internet connection..). When i finish downloading i will go to my laptop and try if my usb is recognized. If it is recognized then i will send a quick rely to let you know that everything is fine. If my USB isn't recognized by Windows, I will tell you. Then, we can find another solution. if we can't, i will continue searching on my working computer for this problem..

Sorry, for sending so many quick replies..

My USB is not being recognized by Windows. :(
When i was at my laptop, i had an idea.
What if i format my hard drive (using disk managment) and then re-installing Windows 7 and let the installation do some updates.
Because i heard that these updates are some network and chipset drivers.
My other USB has the Windows 7 Installation.

Also, i have some Windows.old files from Windows 8.1
Are there any drivers in this folder?

At this point another "clean" reinstall (reformat the hard drive and install Windows) is a good idea. Let it look for drivers and it may install what you need.

One other thought, Before you do the Windows reinstall, reset the BIOS back to defaults. If the BIOS were corrupted it could be a reason the USB and network does not work or work properly.

If I somehow formatted my hard drive and my laptop didn't had any OS, would my USB be recognized by my laptop to reinstall windows?
Can i format my hard drive using CMD?
And then reinstall Windows?
Or this is not a good idea?

I am thinking about replacing my hdd to an ssd to install Windows (With drivers) in there. I have already found one ssd. It is a Western Digital SSD for Laptops which is SATA 3. My laptop supports SATA 3.

Also, My BIOS is not corrupted and it has it's default settings. I think it's OK.

Midnite007, I will let you fix my laptop if the problem continues.

It can have default settings but still be corrupted. That is why I noted doing a BIOS reset first. If the BIOS is not recognizing a device or improperly recognizing a device then Windows will not recognize it or allow drivers to be installed.

Also a point I missed before, with the "old" Celeron processor and only 2GB of RAM you should only install the 32 bit OS version. If you are trying to install the 64 bit and Windows is trying to install 64 bit drivers that can be an issue.

I question the validity of someone offering to repair something for a price on this forum. I've been on this forum since 2009 and this is the first time I've seen this. I won't say its disallowed on the forum, just this is a first. It has always been a free users helping users. One other point, if you can't install drivers for the internet connection (do not have a network connection) then the person can't remote to the PC and log in and try to fix it.

With only 2GB of RAM (according to the PC in your system specs) that is bare minimum and leaves limited memory for applications. 64 bit OS uses more basic memory than a 32 bit. The only real need for a 64 bit is it will address (use) more than 4GB of memory. If you only have less than 4GB of RAM a 32 bit OS is better.

Sorry but I will not change my 64bit os to 32bit because i want to make a RAM upgrade. I will soon buy a DDR3L 8GB RAM.
How can we solve this problem?

And is there another way to solve this problem with my laptop?

Because I will soon buy an ssd to replace my hdd and then have my hdd as an external hard drive and my ssd as my laptop's drive :)
